प्रामाणिकपणा – १४

(तुम्हाला सत्याची आस असेल तर तुम्हाला सत्य गवसतेच, असे श्रीमाताजी सांगत आहेत. पण त्यासाठी तुम्ही, तुमच्या इच्छाआकांक्षामुळे स्वत:च्या त्रुटींकडे डोळेझाक करता कामा नये किंवा त्यांचे समर्थन करता कामा नये, हेदेखील त्या सांगत आहेत.)

तुमच्यामध्ये जेव्हा प्रामाणिकपणा असतो तेव्हा, तुम्हाला प्रतिसाद देण्यासाठी ईश्वरी कृपा सज्ज असते; तेव्हा तुम्हाला ईश्वरी साहाय्य, मार्गदर्शन लाभतेच हे तुमच्या लक्षात येईल. मग पुढे फार काळ तुमच्याकडून चुका घडत नाहीत.

प्रगतीसाठीच्या तळमळीमध्ये असणारा प्रामाणिकपणा व सत्यशोधनाबाबतच्या संकल्पामध्ये असणारा प्रामाणिकपणा आणि (ज्याला आध्यात्मिकदृष्ट्या विशुद्ध मानले जाते अशा) विशुद्ध असण्याच्या आवश्यकतेमध्ये असणारा प्रामाणिकपणा - हा प्रामाणिकपणा हीच सर्व प्रकारच्या प्रगतीची गुरुकिल्ली असते.

(नुसती) आश्वासने देऊ नका - कृती करा.
(नुसती) स्वप्ने पाहू नका - ती प्रत्यक्षात उतरवा.

अप्रामाणिकपणा हा एक असाध्य दोष आहे असे दिसते आणि त्या दोषामुळे व्यक्तीमधील ईश्वरी कृपेचे कार्यसुद्धा नामशेष झाल्यासारखे होते. या अप्रामाणिकपणामुळेच कालीमातेला या जगामध्ये तिच्या रौद्ररूपाद्वारे हस्तक्षेप करणे भाग पडते.

मी ‘क्ष’सारख्या अप्रामाणिक माणसाला काहीही सूचना करणार नाही कारण तो त्याला ढोंगीपणाने प्रतिसाद देईल आणि तो आत्ता ज्या अंधकारामध्ये बुडालेला आहे, तो अंधकार त्याच्या ढोंगीपणामुळे अधिकच वाढेल.

Insincerity seems to be an incurable defect which nullifies the working of the Grace in a being. It is certainly insincerity which has necessitated the violent intervention of Kali in the world.

I cannot possibly give orders to an insincere person because he will respond hypocritically, and that increases even further the darkness he is engulfed in.

प्रामाणिकपणा – १०

व्यक्तीकडे संपूर्णपणे पारदर्शी प्रामाणिकपणा असला पाहिजे. प्रामाणिकपणाचा अभाव हेच आज आपल्याला भेडसावत असणाऱ्या सर्व अडचणींचे कारण आहे. सर्व माणसांमध्ये अप्रामाणिकपणा आहे. संपूर्णपणे प्रामाणिक अशी अवघी शंभरच माणसं या पृथ्वीवर असतील. माणसाची प्रकृतीच त्याला अप्रामाणिक बनविते, ती खूप जटिल आहे. मनुष्य सातत्याने स्वत:ला फसवत असतो, स्वत:पासून सत्य लपवत असतो, स्वत:साठी सबबी शोधत असतो.

योग हा सर्वांगाने प्रामाणिक बनण्याचा मार्ग आहे. संपूर्णत: प्रामाणिक असणे अवघड असते पण एखादी व्यक्ती किमान मानसिकरित्या तरी प्रामाणिक होऊ शकते...

दिव्य शक्ती विद्यमान आहे, पूर्वी कधीही नव्हती अशा रितीने ती आज उपस्थित आहे; पण माणसांच्या अप्रामाणिकपणामुळे ती येथे अवतरित होण्यापासून रोखली जात आहे, त्यामुळे तिची अनुभूती येऊ शकत नाही. सर्व जगच खोटेपणामध्ये, असत्यामध्ये जगत आहे. आत्तापर्यंतचे माणसांमाणसांतील सर्व नातेसंबंध हे खोटेपणा व फसवणुकीवर आधारलेले आहेत.

राष्ट्राराष्ट्रांमधील राजनैतिक संबंधही खोटेपणावर आधारलेले आहेत. त्यांना 'शांती हवी आहे' असा ते एकीकडे दावा करत असतात आणि त्याचवेळी ते स्वत:ची सामरिक ताकद वाढवीत चालले आहेत. माणसांमधील व राष्ट्राराष्ट्रांमधील पारदर्शी प्रामाणिकपणामुळेच रूपांतरण झालेले जग अस्तित्वात येऊ शकेल.

Sincerity – 10

One must have an absolutely transparent sincerity. Lack of sincerity is the cause of the difficulties we meet at present. Insincerity is in all men. There are perhaps a hundred men on earth who are totally sincere. Man’s very nature makes him insincere — it is very complicated, for he is constantly deceiving himself, hiding the truth from himself, making excuses for himself.

Yoga is the way to become sincere in all parts of the being. It is difficult to be sincere, but at least one can be mentally sincere...

The force is there, present as never before; man’s insincerity prevents it from descending, from being felt. The world lives in falsehood, all relations between men have until now been based on falsehood and deceit.

Diplomatic relations between nations are based on falsehood. They claim to want peace, and meanwhile they are arming themselves. Only a transparent sincerity in man and among nations can usher in a transformed world.

प्रामाणिकपणा – ०९

माणसं नेहमीच जटिल असतात आणि त्यांच्या प्रकृतीमध्ये गुण व दोष परस्परांमध्ये इतके मिसळलेले असतात की, ते वेगळे करता येणे जवळजवळ अशक्य असते. एखादी व्यक्ती जे बनू इच्छिते किंवा इतरांच्या मनात तिच्याविषयी जी प्रतिमा असावी असे तिला वाटते त्यापेक्षा, ती व्यक्ती वास्तवात पूर्णपणे वेगळी असू शकते. कधीकधी त्या व्यक्तीच्या स्वभावाची एक बाजू दिसते, तर कधी तिच्या स्वभावाची दुसरीच बाजू व्यक्त होते किंवा अमुक एका संदर्भात व्यक्ती जशी वागते त्यापेक्षा अगदी भिन्नपणे ती इतरांच्या बाबतीत वागू शकते.

मानवी प्रकृतीच्या दृष्टीने पाहता, पूर्णपणे प्रामाणिक असणे, सरळमार्गी असणे, खुले असणे ही काही साधीसोपी उपलब्धी नाही. केवळ आध्यात्मिक प्रयत्नांनीच ही गोष्ट साध्य होऊ शकते. त्यासाठी व्यक्तीच्या आत्म-परीक्षणात्मक दृष्टीमध्ये निर्मम-वस्तुनिष्ठता असणे आवश्यक असते. तिच्यामध्ये आत्मनिरीक्षणाची स्वसमर्थन न करणारी चिकित्सा आवश्यक असते. बरेचदा भल्या भल्या साधकांकडे किंवा योग्यांकडेदेखील ही क्षमता नसते. केवळ प्रकाशमान अशा ‘ईश्वरी-कृपे‌’मुळेच, साधकाला स्वतःचा शोध लागतो आणि त्याच्यामध्ये ज्या उणिवा असतात, त्या भरून काढून, त्यांचे रूपांतरण घडविण्याची क्षमता केवळ त्या ‘ईश्वरी-कृपे‌’मध्येच असते. (आणि हे सुद्धा केव्हा शक्य होते?) तर, साधक जेव्हा ईश्वरी कार्यासाठी स्वतःला समर्पित करतो आणि तसे करण्यास तो सहमती दर्शवितो तेव्हाच हे घडून येते.

Sincerity – 09

Men are always mixed and there are qualities and defects mingled together almost inextricably in their nature. What a man wants to be or wants others to see in him or what he is sometimes on one side of his nature or in some relations can be very different from what he is in the actual fact or in other relations or on another side of his nature.

To be absolutely sincere, straightforward, open, is not an easy achievement for human nature. It is only by spiritual endeavour that one can realise it — and to do it needs a severity of introspective self-vision, an unsparing scrutiny of self-observation of which many sadhaks or Yogins even are not capable and it is only by an illumining Grace that reveals the sadhak to himself and transforms what is deficient in him that it can be done. And even then only if he himself consents and lends himself wholly to the divine working.
