Surah Al-Baqarah | Verse 267

Surah Al-Baqarah | Verse 266

Allah gives the example of a person who owns a beautiful garden full of date palms and grapevines, with rivers flowing beneath it and all kinds of fruits. In old age, when he is weak and his children are dependent on him, a fiery wind strikes the garden and destroys it completely. Allah presents such examples so that people may reflect.

The lesson is that a person should not ruin their good deeds through insincerity, showing off, or sinful actions after having worked hard to earn reward. The lesson is that Allah’s ability to resurrect and restore life is absolute. Even when something appears impossible to humans, it is easy for Allah. The verse strengthens belief in the Hereafter, resurrection, and Allah’s unlimited power and wisdom.
