૧૪મી સદીના ગુજરાતમાં, જેસલ જાડેજા—a ભયાનક લૂંટારો—એ પવિત્ર અને આધ્યાત્મિક સ્ત્રી તોરલને અપહરણ કરવાનો ઇરાદો રાખ્યો હતો. પરંતુ તોરલની અડગ ભક્તિ અને કરુણાએ જેસલને આત્મજ્ઞાન તરફ દોરી દીધો. કચ્છની આ પ્રાચીન લોકકથા બતાવે છે કે પ્રેમ અને ધર્મના માર્ગે ચાલવાથી કઈ રીતે કોઈપણ વ્યકતિનો પરિવર્તન શક્ય છે. આજે પણ અંજાર સ્થિત જેસલ-તોરલની સમાધિ તેમની અવિનાશી વારસાની સાક્ષી આપે છે.
