**TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR**

09-07-2025
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions *SANJY Convoy /LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides* on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. However, *HMVs shall be allowed on alternate days.* TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing this traffic.

*CUT OFF TIMINGS FOR LMVs/PASSENGER/PRIVATE CARs*
To be released from
• Nagrota (Jammu) towards Srinagar: *from 0600 hrs. to 1200 hrs.*
• Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar: *from 0700 hrs to 1300 hrs* &
• Qazigund towards Jammu: *from 1130 hrs to 1400 hrs.*
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the traffic advisory and cut off timings. No vehicle shall be allowed to move before and after cut off timings.

*HMVs/Load Carriers*
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, HMVs shall be allowed *from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) towards Jammu* after assessing the road and traffic situation on NH-44 and *no HMV shall be allowed after 1900 hrs* . TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.
*Moreover, in view of ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, to provide hassle free movement of trucks carrying fresh/perishable goods on NH-44. UT administration has decided, all tankers of Petrol, Diesel, LPG bulk gas, all trucks carrying empty LPG Cylinders; all empty vehicles of FCI; any other vehicle loaded/empty upto 10-tyres shall use only Mughal Road while returning to Jammu, as per advisory issued by DIVCOM Kashmir vide No. Divcom/Dev/120/2025/7055-75 dated 01-07-2025*

*Kishtwar- Sinthan Anantnag NH-244*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from NHIDCL, LMVs/HPSVs shall be allowed *from both sides viz from Anantnag towards Kishtwar and vice- versa* on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road. These vehicles shall be allowed from PP Parana towards Anantnag *from 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs and from PP Daksum towards Kishtwar from 0900 hrs. to 1500 hrs.* No HMV other than designated HPSVs shall be allowed as per order issued by SDM Chhatroo vide No. SDM/C/2025-26/146-53 dated 16-05-2025 and SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/KNG/665-71 dated 16-05-2025.

*SSG ROAD*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after getting green signal from the BRO) traffic movement shall be allowed on regulated manner on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road. *LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar at 0500 hrs. to 1000 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs* . No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.
SFs Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Yatra convoys (both UP and DOWN) don't get disturbed.

*Mughal Road*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (GREF). *LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides* on Mughal road viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa via Poonch. However, HMVs (upto ten tyres only) shall be allowed from Shopian towards Poonch. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgala (Baffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) *at 0700 hrs. upto 1800 hrs.* as per advisory issued by DIVCOM Kashmir vide No. Divcom/Dev/120/2025/7055-75 dated 01-07-2025.

*Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Awareness Programme Organized by Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, Shopian*

In a noteworthy initiative to advance gender equality and promote the empowerment of the girl child, Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, Shopian conducted a comprehensive awareness programme under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign at Hermain Block, Shopian.
The programme began with an opening address by District Mission Coordinator, Sankalp Hub who sensitized the audience about the critical importance of educating the girl child and empowering her in every sphere of life. She underlined how investing in girls’ education and well-being not only uplifts families but lays the foundation for a strong and progressive society.
Adding further value to the programme, Gender Specialist, sankalp hub conducted an informative session where she briefed participants about various government welfare schemes specifically meant for women and girls. She explained the eligibility criteria, required documentation, and shared important helpline numbers, ensuring the attendees were better equipped to access these entitlements and assist others in doing the same.
As part of the outreach activities, a pledge ceremony was held where participants vowed to stand for the rights, protection, and dignity of the girl child.
The event witnessed enthusiastic involvement from ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and community members, reflecting strong grassroots participation and a shared commitment to gender equity.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt pledge ceremony, where the community reaffirmed its dedication to protect girls from all forms of injustice and to ensure they are given every opportunity to lead safe, dignified, and fulfilling lives.

JAMMU: Six alleged drug peddlers were arrested with he**in in Udhampur, Jammu and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Tuesday.

Arun Choudhary, a resident of Krowa, was arrested after 5.81 grams of he**in was recovered from his possession near the Tawi bridge near Jaganoo on Tuesday morning, a police spokesperson said.

He said the narcotics were recovered after a patrolling party noticed Choudhary moving around suspiciously and frisked him.

Three drug peddlers Arun Singh of Rajiv Nagar, Mohd Rustam Shah of Baramulla and Rubel Sharma alias Chinko of Talab Tillo were arrested from Jammu bus stand, Nowabad and Bahu Fort, respectively, late Monday, the spokesperson said.

He said 20 grams of he**in and one weighing machine were recovered from Singh, 12 grams of he**in was recovered from Shah, and 8.66 grams of he**in, a weighing machine and 11 mobile phones were recovered from Sharma. Shah's private car was also seized.

In Kathua, two drug peddlers Liyaqat Ali and Sajad Hussain were arrested after 13.04 grams of he**in was recovered from them during checking at Hardo-Muthi in the Rajbagh area, the spokesperson said.

He said all the six drug peddlers have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and further investigation is underway

TAMIL NADU: Two students lost their lives and three others, including two children and the driver, were injured after a school bus collided with a train at a railway crossing in Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore district on Tuesday morning.

According to Cuddalore Superintendent of Police Jayakumar, "Two students dead, two students and the bus driver injured. The Railway Police, railway authorities, and the State Police are conducting further investigation."

SP Jayankumar informed that one of the students died on the spot, while the other succumbed to injuries at the hospital. The injured are in the hospital for treatment.
Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin, expressed condolences to the families and posted on his X, "I am deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic news of the accident in Sembanarkuppam, Cuddalore, in which two young students lost their lives. I extend my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the parents, relatives, and friends of the deceased children."
He also announced compensation of Rs 5 lakhs each to the families of the deceased children, Rs 1 lakh each to those who have sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment, and Rs 50,000 each to those with minor injuries.

The accident occurred around 7:40 am at the Sembankuppam railway crossing, where the school bus was attempting to cross the tracks when it was hit by an oncoming train.

Restoration work is currently underway at the Sembankuppam railway crossing.

*Dead Body Recovered of Drowned Boy at Jetty Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla*

The Dead body of the boy who drowned before some days in River Jhelum at Jetty Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla, has been recovered from the same location, thanks to the tireless efforts of SDRF personnel and local residents.
The deceased has been identified as Uzair Ahmad Ganie, son of Mohammad Arif Ganie, a resident of Sherwani Colony, Baramulla.

May Allah (SWT) grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous. Ameen.
