Bathoie Narh Bass Witnesses Major BJP Joining Programme

Mahore//,30 may 2026:- Bathoie Narh Bass today witnessed a massive BJP joining programme under the leadership of BJP leader Choudhary Mohd Akram. The event saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, party workers, and supporters.
On the occasion, a large number of workers and supporters associated with the Azad Group led by former minister Ajaz Ahmed Khan, as well as supporters of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, announced their decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The new entrants expressed their confidence in the leadership of Choudhary Mohd Akram and appreciated his continuous efforts for the development and welfare of the people of the region.
Welcoming the new members into the BJP fold, Choudhary Mohd Akram thanked them for reposing faith in the party's vision and policies. He stated that the growing support for BJP reflects the people's trust in the party's commitment to development, good governance, and public welfare.
The joining members assured their full support to BJP and pledged to work for strengthening the party at the grassroots level. They also expressed their determination to contribute towards the socio-economic development of the area under the leadership of Choudhary Mohd Akram.
The programme concluded with a call for unity, development, and collective efforts for the progress and prosperity of the region.

DM Reasi reviews NCORD measures; stresses coordinated action against drug abuse

REASI, MAY 29: District Magistrate Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a meeting of the District Level Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) to review enforcement measures and initiatives aimed at curbing drug abuse and strengthening implementation of the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan in the district.
Reviewing measures against illegal cultivation of poppy and cannabis, the District Magistrate called for strict vigilance and regular monitoring. He directed the Divisional Forest Officers of Reasi and Mahore to conduct extensive inspections in their respective jurisdictions to detect and eliminate any such crops if found. He also directed strict action against those involved and emphasized accountability at every level.
To strengthen prevention efforts, the District Magistrate instructed trained counsellors to conduct regular counselling and interactive sessions in schools and colleges to educate students about the harmful effects of substance abuse. Tehsildars were directed to enhance coordination with Mahila Nigrani Samitis and ensure their active participation in grassroots monitoring activities.
He directed the Health Department to ensure that the Drug De-addiction Centre is completed within the stipulated timeframe and made fully functional and accessible during the ongoing campaign. The availability of drug testing kits was also reviewed and their effective utilisation stressed.
During the meeting, the Drug Inspector reported seizure of certain medical shops found in violation of prescribed protocols. Taking serious note of the matter, the District Magistrate directed intensified inspections and strict monitoring of medical shops across the district under the anti-drug drive.
The District Magistrate also reviewed the status of cancellation of driving licences of individuals involved in drug-related offences and instructed authorities to install CCTV cameras at identified hotspots to strengthen surveillance and curb unlawful activities.
Reviewing awareness initiatives under the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, he directed Block Development Officers to organise awareness programmes in Panchayats and blocks with wider public participation. He further instructed that padyatras be conducted in all Panchayats and blocks, particularly in areas where such activities are yet to be organised.
Anganwadi workers were directed to intensify outreach efforts and maximise public awareness regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse. Schools and colleges were also instructed to organise regular awareness and community outreach programmes.
To strengthen monitoring of suspicious activities, the District Magistrate directed the Postal Department to prepare Standard Operating Procedures for identification and reporting of suspicious courier consignments to facilitate timely action by concerned agencies.
Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi Mukund Tibrewal, Additional District Development Commissioner Krishan Lal, General Manager District Industries Centre, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Nitin Verma, Assistant Commissioner Development Mukesh Sharma, Chief Education Officer and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

گزشتہ روز ایک المناک حادثہ اس وقت پیش آیا جب ضلع ریاسی کےعلاقہ گلاب گڑھ میں بدناڑھ کے مقام پر ایک نوجوان گیارہ کلاس کی لڑکی کپڑے دھوتے ہوئے دریا میں ڈوب کر غرق آب کو گئ ۔ اس کے بعد دئیھکے مقامی لوگوں نے کس طرح خود ریسکیو کرکے لڑکی کی نعش کو ایک بہاری دریا سے بہار نکالا ۔

Yesterday, a tragic incident took place when a young class 11th class girl drowned in a river while washing clothes at Badnarh in Gulabgarh area of Reasi district. After this, the locals of the village themselves rescued the girl and pulled out her body from a spring river.
