BIG BLOW TO TERROR ECOSYSTEM: J&K POLICE ATTACHES PROPERTIES OF FIVE PAKISTAN-BASED TERROR HANDLERS IN REASI

Mahore, July 30: Delivering a major blow to the terror ecosystem, Reasi Police has attached the immovable properties of five Pakistan-based terror handlers during the investigation of FIR No. 70/2024 of Police Station Mahore, registered under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the E&IMCO Act.

The attachment proceedings were carried out by a police team led by SDPO Mahore, Ms. Parul Bhardwaj, JKPS, along with the SHO, Police Station Mahore, in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, Mahore, and local witnesses.

Immovable properties belonging to following persons, identified as assets intended to facilitate and finance terrorist activities, were attached:

1. Alaf Din S/o Mir Baz @ Mir Baj, R/o Shajroo, Tehsil Mahore – 07 Kanals of land.
2. Ghulam Mohd @ Gamma S/o Mohd Yousaf, R/o Shajroo, Mahore – 10 Kanals 11 Marlas of land.
3. Mohd Asraf S/o Ab Karim, R/o Chakrass (Mulass), Mahore – 17 Marlas of land.
4. Shabir Ahmad S/o Mohd Yousaf, R/o Chakrass (Jamsalan), Mahore – 07 Kanals 03 Marlas of land.
5. Bihar Din S/o Abdul Sattar Chopan, R/o Sildhar – 08 Kanals 01 Marla of land.

During the investigation, credible evidence established that the above accused had exfiltrated to Pakistan for terrorist training and are presently operating as terror handlers from across the border, actively promoting, facilitating, and coordinating terrorist activities. The investigation further revealed that these properties were liable to be alienated, with the proceeds intended to finance and sustain terrorist operations.

Based on these findings, Reasi Police, after obtaining the requisite approval from the Police HQ J&K, attached the properties under the relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, to prevent their misuse for terror financing.

This action reflects the firm resolve of Reasi Police to dismantle the financial infrastructure supporting terrorism. By targeting assets linked to terror operatives, the police aim to disrupt the terror ecosystem and deny anti-national elements the resources required to sustain their activities.

Reasi Police remains steadfast in its commitment to combating terrorism through stringent legal action and ensuring lasting peace, security, and public safety in the region.

DC Reasi Reviews Progress of Jal Jeevan Mission, Directs Expedited Completion of AMRUT 2.0 Works

REASI, JULY 29: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Kumar Abhishek, today chaired a review meeting of the District Jal Jeevan Mission and District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) to assess the progress of drinking water supply projects and sanitation initiatives across the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the physical and financial progress of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes, AMRUT 2.0 projects, Har Ghar Jal certification, RPWSS ID creation, the District Service Improvement Plan, and the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for left-out areas under the DAJGUA programme.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of development works under AMRUT 2.0 and instructed the executing agencies to complete all pending works by next month. Stressing the importance of providing safe drinking water to every household, he directed the officers to complete Har Ghar Jal certification for all villages where water supply schemes have already been commissioned.

The meeting further reviewed the progress under the Swachh Bharat Mission, Panchayat dashboard performance, the prevailing drinking water supply scenario in urban and rural areas, and the implementation of the Catch the Rain campaign. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to undertake the rejuvenation of defunct borewells under the campaign to strengthen water availability. He emphasized regular monitoring and close coordination among departments to achieve the objectives of the Jal Jeevan Mission and related programmes in a time-bound manner.

DC Reasi Reviews Infrastructure, Safety Measures for Kousar Nag Yatra 2026

REASI, JULY 29: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Kumar Abhishek, today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the forthcoming Annual Kousar Nag Yatra 2026. The meeting was attended by officers from the civil administration and concerned departments to assess the preparedness for the smooth and safe conduct of the pilgrimage.

During the meeting, SDM Mahore briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the status of the yatra track, availability of essential facilities and the arrangements being made for the convenience of pilgrims. He also apprised the chair about the measures taken to ensure basic amenities and coordinated support along the route.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of infrastructure development works being undertaken on the yatra route. He also assessed the availability and readiness of safety equipment and directed the concerned departments to ensure that all safety measures are put in place well before the commencement of the pilgrimage.

He instructed all concerned officers to complete the remaining works in a time-bound manner and ensure adequate arrangements for sanitation, drinking water, medical facilities, communication and emergency response.

DC Reasi Reviews Development Works and Pilgrim Facilities at Shiv Khori Ahead of Annual Shrawan Mahotsav

REASI, JULY 30: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek and Vice Chairman of the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB), today conducted an extensive inspection of Shiv Khori Shrine along with Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi Mukund Tibrewal to review the progress of ongoing developmental works and assess the preparedness for the forthcoming Shrawan Mahotsav-2026. Senior officers of the civil and police administration, officers of the Shrine Board and concerned line departments accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.

The inspection covered the Taxi Stand, Shiv Khori, Gouri Bhawan, Helipad and other key locations associated with the pilgrimage. He took stock of the pace and quality of the ongoing infrastructure works and stressed the need for their timely completion to ensure improved facilities, convenience and safety for devotees expected to visit the holy shrine.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of the approach road connecting Shiv Khori Bhawan to the Helipad and directed the executing agencies to expedite the work while maintaining the prescribed quality standards. He also inspected the proposed frisking points and instructed the concerned departments to complete all security-related infrastructure well before the commencement of the festival. He directed the concerned authorities to undertake the cutting of vulnerable hill portions near the Helipad and complete the installation of chain-link fencing and a wind sock to facilitate the safe operation of helicopter services.

The Deputy Commissioner further inspected the pilgrimage track from Ram Mandir to the Shrine Bhawan and directed the concerned department to carry out its repair and strengthening on priority so that pilgrims can undertake the yatra safely and comfortably. He also reviewed the condition of Gouri Bhawan and instructed the officers to complete its repair and renovation within the stipulated timeframe. The upgradation works of Shiv Shakti Bhawan were also inspected, with directions issued for their early completion.

During the inspection, he also reviewed traffic management arrangements and directed the Assistant Regional Transport Officer Reasi, to resolve the issues related to the operation and regulation of e-rickshaws and auto-rickshaws in the shrine area to ensure smooth traffic movement and convenience for pilgrims.

Reviewing the overall preparations for Shrawan Mahotsav-2026, the Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to make comprehensive arrangements well in advance. He instructed the departments to ensure adequate sanitation, uninterrupted drinking water and power supply, proper health and emergency services, traffic regulation, security arrangements, parking facilities, public convenience amenities and effective coordination among all agencies for the successful conduct of the annual festival.

ADC Rakesh Kumar, ACR Nitin Verma, ADDL.SP Iftekhar Ahmed, XENs of JPDCL and Jal Shakti and other concerned officers were present during the visit.
