It is truly unfortunate to see how the role of Hon’ble CM Omar Abdullah Sahab has been undermined during the visit of Hon’ble Home Minister Amit Shah Ji. Omar Sahab has personally visited almost every affected area in Jammu and Kashmir, including the sites hit by floods, landslides, and severe waterlogging in the Tawi River. He interacted directly with the people, reviewed damages on the ground, and assured immediate relief measures—showing a leadership rooted in empathy and accountability.

Despite this, the Home Minister chose to place more importance on the Lieutenant Governor , who has largely confined himself to his office and did not step out to assess the hardships that people have been facing in these testing times. This neglect of the public mandate not only weakens the voice of the elected leadership but also disappoints the people, who expect their chosen Chief Minister to be given priority in matters of governance and crisis management. Respecting the democratic mandate means recognizing the hard work and dedication of the CM who stands with the people in their most difficult hour, rather than sidelining him in favor of bureaucratic protocol.
