The most dangerous road in Kinnaur is often considered the Hindustan-Tibet Highway (NH-5), particularly sections like Taranda Dhank (or Dhak), known for extreme narrowness, sheer cliffs dropping to the Sutlej River, frequent landslides, rockfalls, blind curves, and lack of guardrails, making it treacherous, especially during monsoon or snowfall, though incredibly scenic.
