Sir, I cleared FMGE... but I’m still not living the life I dreamed of.”
That sentence stayed with me.
A few days ago, an MBBS graduate came to meet me at our Academically Global Dehradun office.
He completed his MBBS abroad.
He returned to India, prepared for the FMGE Exam, and passed in 2023.
Like many students, he thought passing FMGE would solve everything.
Instead, he spent months searching for an internship. Then came a government job, but the career satisfaction he expected never arrived.
He looked at me and asked,
“Sir, is there another pathway?”
My answer was simple.
Yes. Australia.
For the last 8 years, I’ve been guiding Indian doctors towards the Australian Medical Council (AMC) pathway.
One thing surprises me.
Many doctors spend years attempting FMGE, but never seriously explore pathways like AMC Australia, USMLE, or even non-clinical careers.
Here’s something many people don’t realise.
The AMC Exam is challenging, but many candidates find it more focused because it primarily tests the core clinical disciplines used in medical practice. Over the years, I’ve also seen doctors who struggled with FMGE later clear the AMC pathway successfully. Every candidate’s journey is different, but it shows there is more than one route to building a medical career.
If your dream is to become a doctor in Australia, don’t wait until you’ve spent years feeling stuck.
Understand your options.
Plan early.
Prepare strategically.
At Academically Global, we support doctors throughout the journey:

Sometimes, changing your destination changes your life.
