🚨 UPDATE: Texas Mother Formally Charged in Liberty County Case
The tragic Liberty County case involving Domingo and Jessica Quintana has taken another serious turn.
Authorities confirm that Jessica Quintana, 39, has been formally charged after allegedly drugging and attempting to drown the couple’s three children last month.
According to investigators, she faces two counts of injury to a child causing bodily injury and one count of assault causing bodily injury. Jessica was taken into custody Friday morning shortly after being released from the hospital.
Back on September 29, deputies responded to a 6 a.m. 911 call from Domingo Quintana, who reported that his wife had “poisoned the children with NyQuil and tried to drown them” in a pond on their 300-acre property near Dayton, Texas.
When officers arrived, they found all three children wet but alive, and Jessica still in the water. Domingo reportedly pulled the children from the pond himself.
Investigators say the children, ages 15, 11, and 6, had allegedly been given vodka mixed with NyQuil before the incident. All were hospitalized — the 11-year-old was airlifted but has since recovered.
The children are now under Child Protective Services custody as the investigation continues.
Meanwhile, Domingo Quintana faces animal-cruelty charges related to conditions on the family property. He has pled not guilty and was denied a court-appointed attorney.
The case has since widened, with multiple new developments:
• A Liberty County lieutenant has been suspended and is under Texas Rangers investigation for visiting Domingo in jail.
• Jessica has been granted supervised visitation, while Domingo has been denied contact with the children.
• Public records show the family faces over $300,000 in taxes and judgments.
Now, both parents remain under scrutiny — one formally charged in an alleged attempt to harm her children, the other facing his own legal challenges.
Authorities continue to investigate as this complex and heartbreaking case unfolds.
