I remember this moment like it was yesterday

Tired eyes. A full heart.
One tiny baby in my arms
and one little one already calling me “Mum.”

I didn’t know how I was going to do it.
How I’d split myself in two, how I’d love them both enough,
how I’d be *everything* they needed.

But somehow, love multiplied.
Even in the exhaustion, even in the overwhelm

my heart just grew.

I wasn’t perfect.
I was learning, fumbling, growing—right alongside them.
But I showed up. I held them close.
And I loved with everything I had.

That day, I became a mother all over again.
And from that moment on,
my heart stopped belonging just to me.

Two babies. One mama. A lifetime of love beginning in that room. đŸ€

My kids are growing up with two versions of me.

One got the overwhelmed mum.
Tired eyes, anxious heart, figuring it out as I went.
She was healing, learning, worrying.
Trying to balance everything and be everything.

The other?
She’s steadier. Softer.
A little more sure of herself.
She knows that being there matters more than doing it all.
She trusts her gut now. She lets go of the guilt.

Both versions loved hard.
Both gave everything.
But they weren’t the same.

And that’s what parenting is, isn’t it?
You grow while they do.

I just hope that one day, they’ll see
I was growing for them all along.

Two versions. One heart. Always theirs. đŸ€

There will be moments when doing right by your child means doing what’s unpopular.
Moments when protecting their spirit means disappointing others.
Moments when standing by them means standing alone.

But our job was never to please the world. It was to raise someone who knows their worth — because they watched us honour it first.

Standing up for your child doesn’t mean justifying everything they do.
It doesn’t mean ignoring harm or avoiding accountability.

It means staying close enough to see the full story.
It means advocating for their humanity — even when they’ve made a mistake.
It means being their voice when they don’t yet have the words to explain the storm inside them.
And it means guiding them, with love and truth, toward repair and responsibility.

Because when we defend them, it’s not the behaviour we’re defending. It’s the child underneath it — scared, struggling, or misunderstood.

And when they see us stand beside them through the hard moments, they learn not to abandon themselves in their own.

One day, when the world feels harsh, they’ll remember how it felt to be protected — not excused, but understood.

And they’ll carry that worth like armour. Always. ❀

They don’t show this part often.
The still moments.
The in-between.

Not the mess.
Not the noise.
Just two tired parents
recharging
with a screen and a quiet couch.

We’re not failing because we need a break.
We’re human because we take one.

Sometimes rest looks like this—
shoulders slumped,
coffee forgotten,
the world paused.

And in those small pauses,
we remember:
we’re doing okay.
They’re okay.
And we get up tomorrow
and do it all again
with love.

Bath time used to be quick. Efficient. In and out.
Now?
Now it’s a full production.

There’s bubbles in places I didn’t know could bubble.
Singing, splashing, a shampoo beard,
and a very questionable amount of water on the floor.

But there’s also this—
Giggles that echo.
Tiny hands learning care.
Little voices taking turns.
A dad with soap in his ears, smiling anyway.

It’s loud.
It’s messy.
It’s beautiful.

These are the moments I’ll miss one day.
Not the wet socks,
but the love in the chaos.

This is what I dreamed of

before I ever held them in my arms.

A living room full of laughter,
little feet dancing in pajamas,
hands reaching out for mine,
trusting I’ll always be there to catch them.

We weren’t doing anything grand—
just spinning in circles,
laughing like we had nothing else in the world to do.
But in that ordinary moment,
I felt everything.

The love.
The fleeting time.
The ache of knowing one day their hands will let go.

But not tonight.

Tonight, they danced with me.
And I held on just a little tighter—
because this
 this is the good part.

A Second Chance at Childhood
—I didn’t know life would let me
be a kid again this way—
building forts from couch cushions,
making mud pies in the clay.

I didn’t know that sidewalk chalk
would bloom like art for me,
or that dandelions in tiny fists
could feel like royalty.

I didn’t know lullabies
could grow richer with gray hair,
or that bedtime prayers and giggles
would make me linger there.

Grandkids are the gentle pause
I never knew I’d crave—
the proof that slowing down in life
isn’t something to be brave,
but something to be grateful for—
the treasure we all need—
a daily nudge to notice
how the smallest joys succeed.

So if you see me on the floor,
coloring outside the lines—
just know I’m living twice the life,
and loving every time.

Sometimes, they don’t need a big speech or a long lesson.
They just need me to sit there — close enough for comfort, quiet enough for them to feel safe.

I can see it in their eyes
the way they tuck themselves in, side by side, waiting to see how I’ll respond.
It’s in these moments I’m reminded that my presence speaks louder than my words.

One day, they’ll be too big to curl up like this.
But I hope they’ll always remember that when life felt uncertain,
Mama was right there on the kitchen floor, making the world feel steady again. 💛

These are the moments I wish I could freeze in time —
music playing, little feet dancing, laughter echoing off the walls, and the comfort of knowing that right now, everything is simple and safe.

No rushing, no “hurry ups,” no worries about tomorrow.
Just pure joy filling our living room and my heart all at once.

One day, the house will be quieter, the toys will be gone, and the rug won’t have those little dance marks in it anymore.
But I’ll carry this sound — their giggles, their shouts, their happy chaos — with me forever. 💛

I sat there quietly, just watching her play.
The sunlight spilling in, the soft sound of her little footsteps, and the way her hands clutched her “treasures” like they were the most important things in the world.

The floor was a mess — bits and pieces everywhere — but in that moment, I didn’t see clutter.
I saw a childhood in full bloom.
I saw the little girl who still looks for me out of the corner of her eye, just to make sure I’m watching.

One day, she won’t need to look back.
One day, this room will be tidy, and I’ll give anything to have the mess back.
Because this
this is the kind of mess I’ll miss for the rest of my life. 💛

shoutout to the grandparents that show up by choiceđŸ©·

the ones we can always count on and make sure they will be there whenever they can.
the ones that know our child's favorite foods and toys. the ones that build forts and do crafts. the ones that our children love as much as us.

It’s never really about the pancakes.
It’s about the giggles between spills, the little hands eager to stir, and the way their eyes light up when they feel part of something.

Sure, the batter ends up on the counter, the floor, and somehow even the wall.
But one day, the kitchen will be clean and quiet
and I’ll miss the chaos more than I can say.

Because right now, these messy mornings are where memories are made.
And long after the pancakes are gone, I’ll still remember the sweetness of cooking side by side,
hearts full, hands sticky, love everywhere. 💛
