Local residents and security personnel rushed to the spot and provided immediate assistance. The injured girl was then taken for medical treatment. Authorities at the PHQ are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident, including whether speed, road conditions, or other factors contributed.

Police have urged motorists and two-wheeler riders to adhere to safety protocols, wear helmets, and drive cautiously, especially in busy areas like Chandranagar.

𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘄𝗮, 𝗔𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵: A fire broke out today at a shop in Banderdewa. The fire services promptly reached the spot and managed to bring the fire under control before it spread further. According to sources, no casualties have been reported so far.

The extent of the damage is still being assessed, and authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. Fire officials confirmed that the situation is now under control and relief efforts are ongoing.

Two Stolen Vehicles Recovered in Arunachal, Vehicle Thief Arrested

Nirjuli, September 5, 2025:
The Itanagar Capital Police have successfully recovered two stolen vehicles and arrested a car thief after a series of operations carried out in Lohit district and Assam.

The case was first reported on August 23, 2025, when a Maruti Alto (Registration No. AR01L-9258) was stolen near Tarajuli Railway Station. Following the complaint, Papu Hills Police Station promptly registered a case (C/No. 79/25 U/S 303 BNS) and launched an investigation.

Through technical surveillance and field intelligence, police identified the accused as Likha Taring (29 years), son of Likha Tem, and a resident of Pachin Colony, Naharlagun. He was traced to Medo in Lohit District. On September 3, 2025, a team led by SI P.K. Riram, with the support of constable Pappu Halder and Lohit Police, chased down and apprehended the accused in a dramatic pursuit through a tea estate under Medo Circle. The stolen Maruti Alto was recovered immediately after his arrest.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing another vehicle from Itanagar. Acting on this information, another police team led by Inspector Torun Mai of OC PH PS, along with SI P.K. Riram, ASI Gadi, and Hct. T. Sikom, launched a follow-up operation. On September 4, 2025, they recovered another stolen Maruti Alto (Registration No. AS12M-6671) from Harmutty, Assam.

The accused is now being produced before the court as per legal provisions. Police have confirmed that further investigation is underway to ascertain his involvement in other similar vehicle thefts.

Superintendent of Police, ICR Naharlagun, Dr. Nyelam Nega, APPS, commended the swift action of the investigating team and assured that strong measures will continue against such criminal activities in the region.

Dokmoka Petrol Pump Fuel Fraud Reported

Dokmoka, Sept 5: A case of alleged fuel malpractice has come to light at a petrol pump along Samelangso Road in Dokmoka.

According to reports, a man who visited the fuel station on Thursday paid ₹200 for petrol but received only about one litre of fuel instead of the expected quantity. Suspecting foul play, he immediately checked the reading and raised the issue with the staff.

Authorities are expected to look into the complaint and verify if there were any irregularities in the pump’s dispensing mechanism.

Residents of the area have appealed to the district administration and the oil company to take strict action against any malpractice and ensure transparency in fuel distribution.

𝗔𝗮𝗹𝗼, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝟭: A tragic road accident near Samsanghat, Aalo, claimed the life of a bike mechanic on Monday. The victim reportedly died on the spot after his two-wheeler collided head-on with a dumper.

According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the collision was so severe that the mechanic sustained fatal injuries before any help could arrive. Local residents immediately alerted the authorities, following which police rushed to the site and took control of the situation.

The body of the deceased was later sent for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. The dumper driver is also being traced for further questioning.

The incident has sparked concerns among locals regarding the growing number of heavy vehicles plying the route and the lack of proper road safety measures in the area.

A sudden fire broke out in a house at Jollang area, located behind Don Bosco College in Itanagar. Initial reports suggest that the cause of the incident is suspected to be a short circuit.

Eyewitnesses stated that the flames spread quickly, triggering panic among nearby residents. Locals rushed to the spot to help and informed the fire service.

As of now, it is still unclear whether there have been any casualties. The fire brigade team has not yet reached the spot.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent remarks made during a rally in Bihar. Mein stated that Gandhi not only targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi but also disrespected his late mother with inappropriate and offensive words.

Rahul Gandhi must apologize to the people of this country, to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and also for the derogatory remarks made against his mother. Such language has no place in Indian politics and is against our democratic and cultural values, DCM Mein asserted while addressing the media.

He further added that political criticism is part of democracy, but crossing the line with unparliamentary language and personal attacks on family members is unacceptable. Mein urged the Congress leadership to take responsibility and issue a public apology for the statements.

Banderdewa Police Bust Inter-State Bike-Lifting Gang, Four Arrested

Banderdewa, 30 August 2025:
In a major breakthrough against vehicle theft, Banderdewa Police have busted an inter-state bike-lifting gang, recovering three stolen two-wheelers and apprehending four accused persons.

The incident unfolded during naka checking duty between midnight and 6 AM at the Banderdewa check gate. A Yamaha R15 motorcycle sped past police signals, while a scooty (AS12AK5904) was intercepted but seized after the rider failed to produce valid documents. Around the same time, a Royal Enfield Hunter (AS07Z0946) made a suspicious U-turn before reaching the naka point.

Later in the day, police detained the scooty rider, identified as Nobo Gohain @ Nobo Hussain of Sootea, Assam, who confessed to being part of a bike-lifting gang. Acting on his input, police recovered the abandoned Royal Enfield Hunter. Further investigation led to the arrest of Marli Gadi (19), of Seijosa, Arunachal Pradesh, and Md. Ricky Ahmed (25), of Sootea, Assam.

During interrogation, Gadi revealed the location of another stolen Yamaha R15. Acting swiftly, a police team led by OC Insp. Kipa Hamak and supervised by SDPO Rishi Longdo raided Hawaijan, Assam, and recovered the bike (AR05A-0990) from Pradyup Bhuyan (22), who was also arrested.

With this operation, three stolen bikes have been recovered and four accused apprehended. The arrested individuals are being handed over to Naharlagun Police Station, where a case of stolen Royal Enfield was already registered. Authorities expect more recoveries as interrogation continues.

Superintendent of Police, ICR NLG, Dr. Nyelam Nega, APPS, urged citizens to always keep their vehicles properly locked and carry valid documents. He appealed to the public to report any suspicious activity related to vehicle theft to the nearest police station.

Itanagar, 30 August: At today’s BJP rally in Itanagar, MLA Mutchu Mithi accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of using derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother. The statement intensified the political atmosphere during the event.

Responding promptly, Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress President Shri Tarh J***y hit back at the BJP, accusing the ruling party of ignoring real state issues and focusing on “useless matters” during rallies.

Tarh J***y said, “Arunachal Pradesh is already facing several serious problems such as the APPSC paper leak scam, unemployment, and a lack of infrastructure development. Instead of addressing these challenges, BJP is wasting people’s time by raising irrelevant topics in rallies.”
