"I began hand embroidering as a means of self-expression. It's a mindfulness practice and therapeutic way for me to relieve stress.

Having grown up watching my grandma doing embroidery and making handicrafts has always fascinated me. My work is a way for me to commemorate her. The interest was cultivated in my childhood while playing with needles and colourful threads & wools, and self-made fabric dolls used to be my toys. It further developed when I went on to try through practical experience, learning through trial and error and self-learning on the internet.

I rediscovered my love for embroidery during this lockdown while making handmade gifts, and from there I started posting on my social media feeds. I'm very humbled that people admired my work and this encouraged me to start "Door-ae-Dorr" for showcasing my artworks.
I'm really thankful to my co-partner Dibyajyoti Nath for all the support and guidance; right from selecting materials to social media management. I couldn’t ask for a better partner.

Currently, I take orders for making thoughtful personalized gifts, jewellery, decor and handicrafts.

"I have been drawing from a very early age. I did a course in art for 8 years but I consider myself more of a self learner. I learnt a lot through YouTube and the internet in general. Exploring the work of other artists on Instagram always inspires me.
I have worked with various mediums and I find myself most comfortable with graphite. So, nowadays I focus mostly on my graphite work while trying other mediums as well on a lesser frequency.
I feel that I'm still a beginner. I'm still trying to master graphite and find my "art style".
Lastly, thanking Alaap Daily for giving me this opportunity to showcase my art and talk about it."

"For me, painting is an escape, an escape from all the chaos in my head. Whenever I feel a bit anxious or get stuck in a thought, I just grab my notebook and start drawing something and with every mark of a pencil, every stroke of a brush, I feel my thoughts getting clear. It calms me down. From my very childhood, I like drawing. But there was a time when I totally left it. But in the first year of my HS, I saw a lot of people posting their artworks on social media and from that, I came to know about the mandala art. I got inspired and thought of trying it out. And this way my drawing journey started again and now I have realised how much I love drawing. I find my peace here. It works as a therapy for me. The satisfaction I get every time I complete a drawing is priceless. Those colours, those patterns, I tell you, the happiness of creating art is just different and I believe every person who is associated with art, be it any form, singing/drawing/acting, anything, can relate to that."

"Students' extra curricular activities can give birth to "local homegrown business"!...Yes such a title runs for K.A.N.Y.A team.
In the lockdown days, it happened one day that we remebered our past saturday-sunday evening art classes and our distorted drawings in our school days...and while discussing we thought of practicing art and craftings again. But then the idea turned into something new when we realised that we all three are extreme jewellery lovers! and that very afternoon we decided to buy few raw materials and give a try!..still remember that we bought only one packet of polymer clay and divided amongst us!..to our surprise after multiple experiments..our first three jewelleries came out!!...yes it was a grand success for us😀😀..
Day by day it became our passion and we employed most of our Uitime in creating designs. Then came "why not to sell our creations" ....and as such K.A.N.Y.A came into existance.

Baking has always given me immense satisfaction and pleasure. I have a passion for cooking as well as crafting and I feel this is the best way to express myself.

"In this lockdown, I have started doing more of mandalas. And I love the process of making the intricate patterns which eventually lead to the final mandala artwork. Mandala is not just an art form, for me it works as meditation. The process is so relaxing and the sequence of patterns are just so soothing to draw. Here are few of my mandala artworks.
