| A youth from Barpeta, Assam, Mridupawan Pathak, has been arrested for allegedly dumping pork at a mosque in Panjabari, Guwahati, sparking tension in the area.

Police investigation led to his arrest after a piece of paper with a girl's name and phone number was found at the scene. Authorities are interrogating Pathak to uncover more details and determine the motive behind the incident.

The situation remains under investigation, with police urging calm and allowing the legal process to proceed.

Based on intel, an EGPD team from Basistha PS intercepted one Maruti Suzuki S-Cross (AS-01-BX-6637) at Koinadhara while en route from Cachar. Upon inspection, 244 packets of foreign ESSE Special Gold Ci******es (Super Slim)—manufactured under authority of KT&G, Korea—were recovered without valid documentation.

Three smugglers have been apprehended:

🔹 Afjal Hussain Laskar (28)
🔹 Bahar Uddin Barbhuiya (35)
🔹 Raju Mia Borbhuiya (36)

All from Cachar district.

Vehicle & contraband seized.
Legal action initiated.

লামডিং-লংকা সংযোগী ২৭ নম্বর জাতীয় সড়কে ফের ধস। আহত দুই—যোগাযোগে বড়সড় বাধা।
A massive landslide occurred on Saturday at the S-turning near Lumding. Due to the collapse of a large portion of the hillside, one side of NH 27 which connects Lumding and Lanka — has been completely blocked. Restoration work going on.

শনিবার লামডিংয়ের কাছে এস-টার্নিং-এ একটি বিশাল ভূমিধসের ঘটনা ঘটে। পাহাড়ের ঢালের একটি বড় অংশ ধসে পড়ার কারণে, লামডিং এবং লঙ্কাকে সংযুক্তকারী ২৭ নম্বর জাতীয় সড়কের একপাশ সম্পূর্ণরূপে বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে। সংস্কারের কাজ চলছে।

Silchar–Guwahati Express (15616) got stuck but has been brought back to Mupa Station safely.
