Update regarding our stolen gear!!!
Metalheads and touring bands, keep an eye out for David Stanek from Prague who ripped us off and, betrayed us. We had hired him for previous tours as our tour driver and he seemed like a perfectly decent guy. After our shows in April, we entrusted him with all our equipment, but instead of keeping them safe, he sold everything to a pawn shop, including our guitars, pedals, drumkit and other hardware. It was a big mistake trusting him, that's for sure.
Despite his full confession to the Czech police, and despite us filing numerous reports, there seems to be no action whatsoever. He walks free, going about his life while we’re stuck in a major financial hole. Not only did he screw us over in terms of lost equipment, but his actions also hit us hard over in terms of subsequent costs we had to bear to keep the tour going (new van/driver bookings, merch, equipment rentals, flights, trains, cabs, etc.).
He’s worked with many other bands and backline companies as well, and from what we’ve heard recently, he’s been lying to and scamming them all. So, watch out for this guy and don’t make the same mistake we did. We have reason to believe that our gear is still at a pawnshop in Prague, so if anyone in Prague can help out, please get in touch with us.
