Sukhim Chasok Tongnam: A Living Tapestry of Limboo Culture
The 10th Year of Sukhim Chasok Tongnam, organized by Neeyara Production, stands as a vibrant tribute to the Limboo community’s deep-rooted cultural heritage. Since ancient times, the Limboo people have celebrated Chasok Tongnam within their homes, offering their first harvest to the deities as a gesture of gratitude. However, in 2016, this sacred celebration stepped beyond the walls of individual homes for the first time in Sikkim, bringing the community together in a shared expression of faith and tradition. That moment marked the birth of Sukhim Chasok Tongnam, a collective celebration that continues to grow stronger each year — now proudly completing its 10th year.
More than a festival, Chasok Tongnam reflects the Limboo philosophy of harmony between nature, spirit, and humanity. It is a time when ancestral songs, traditional attire, and age-old rituals fill the air with stories of gratitude and unity. Through rhythmic dances, sacred offerings, and the melodious echo of folk instruments, the celebration revives traditions passed down through generations. It serves as a gentle reminder that culture is not merely remembered — it is lived, shared, and renewed with each Chasok Tongnam.
