BIG DECISION BY WEST BENGAL GOVERNMENT
According to the West Bengal Government, a large-scale review of SC, ST, and OBC certificates issued after 2011 will be undertaken to verify their authenticity. The decision has reportedly been taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.
Government sources stated that several certificates may have been obtained through fabricated or irregular means by individuals not belonging to the respective communities. The review process aims to identify such cases and ensure that benefits meant for genuine SC, ST, and OBC communities reach the rightful beneficiaries.
Officials said the verification drive will focus on detecting fraudulent documentation and strengthening transparency in the reservation and welfare system across the state.
