अप्पर तादोङ समष्टिको तत्वावधानमा जारी लोसुङ–नाम्सुङ फुटबल प्रतियोगिता निरन्तर उत्साह, ऊर्जा र खेलप्रतिको सम्मानका साथ अगाडि बढिरहेको छ। प्रतियोगिता गत ३० नोभेम्बरदेखि नरबहादुर भण्डारी डिग्री महाविद्यालय, तादोङको खेल मैदानमा आयोजना हुँदै आएको छ, जसले स्थानीय खेलकुद प्रवर्द्धनमा महत्वपूर्ण योगदान पुर्‍याइरहेको छ।

Kabi Tingda BAC Felicitates Stellar Athletes Shri Phuntsok Tashi Bhutia and Shri Thinlay Chopel Bhutia

Kabi, December 02: The Block Administrative Centre (BAC), Kabi Tingda, recently honored two of its outstanding staff members, Shri Phuntsok Tashi Bhutia and Thinlay Chopel Bhutia, for their remarkable achievements at the 2nd Para Sports Meet held in Guwahati.

Shri Phuntsok Tashi Bhutia, a consistent performer, secured a Silver Medal in Table Tennis, following his Gold Medal win in the 1st Para Sports Meet last year. Shri Thinlay Chopel Bhutia, making his debut, brought home a Bronze Medal.

The entire staff at Kabi Tingda BAC, Kabi Rongpa GPK congratulates and celebrates their success, recognizing the talent and resilience that brings pride to Sikkim and the RDD family. Both athletes were felicitated with Certificates of Merit, Cash incentive and traditional khadas.

Shri Pradeep Tamang, OSD to the Hon’ble MLA of the 14–Temi Namphing Constituency; Shri D.R. Khatiwara, CLC Vice President; and Shri Ramesh Basnet, Government Contractor, paid a courtesy visit to the residence of Hon’ble MLA Shri Bedu Singh Panth at Upper Sichey, Gangtok.

During the meeting, they engaged in a productive discussion focusing on the ongoing and forthcoming developmental activities planned for the 14–Temi Namphing Constituency. The deliberations covered key infrastructure initiatives, public utility enhancements, and constituency-level welfare programmes aimed at strengthening the overall socio-economic progress of the region.

They also reviewed the ongoing SKM Party Ward Level Committee Formation Programme, which is currently being actively conducted across the constituency. Families from Pakyong District Receive Land Ownership Documents Under Chief Minister Sikkim Sukumbasi (Landless)Welfare Scheme

Pakyong, December 02 (IPR): With the objective to strengthen and empower families, MLA cm Advisor for Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department, Mrs Pamin Lepcha, distributed land parchas to beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Sikkim Sukumbasi (Landless)Welfare Scheme, at the Conference Hall of the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong, today.

The programme was held in the presence of Zilla Upadhakshya, Mrs Prabha Pradhan; District Collector, Pakyong Mr Rohan Agawane; SDM (Headquarters) Mr Thendup Lepcha; SDM Pakyong, Mr Dak Man S***a; OSD to Directorate of Sikkim State Lotteries, Mr Santosh Kr Pradhan; OSD, IT Department, Mr Bum Tshering Yonzon; RO/AD Pakyong, Mr Kiran Chettri and CA to HCM, Mr Urgen Lepcha.

A total of 20 beneficiaries received land parchas during the event, 8 from Rhenock constituency and 12 from Gnathang Machong constituency.

It is to be mentioned that the distribution aims to provide legal land entitlement to families and ensure security and stability for underprivileged households, while enabling them to build permanent shelter and create a sustainable livelihood.

3,000 Illegal Capsules Seized Under Mission Nasha Mukht

Singtam Police Arrest Woman With Contraband

Singtam, Dec 2:
In a sustained effort to curb the spread of narcotics under Mission Nasha Mukht Singtam, the Singtam Police have arrested a 28-year-old woman for her alleged involvement in drug trafficking.

The accused, identified as Roshni Chettri, daughter of Namgyal Bhutia and currently residing at Dara Goan, Singtam, was apprehended following credible intelligence inputs received by the police.

During a search operation led by SHO, Singtam, PI Sher Bahadur Manger, the police recovered 2,880 loose blue capsules labelled “SPASMO” and “PENGI Plus”. The substances are suspected to be controlled pharmaceutical contraband. The capsules were reportedly found hidden inside a black floral-print handbag belonging to the accused.

The seizure was carried out in the presence of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Rabdang) Roshan S***a, along with independent witnesses — Smt. Yad Kumari Kami, Councillor, Ward No. 1 (Pipal Dara), and Shri Mukesh Agarwal, Councillor, Ward No. 2 (Dara Goan).

Police authorities stated that the operation underscores the department’s unwavering commitment to combating drug misuse and safeguarding the youth of Singtam. They further reiterated that strict action will continue under Mission Nasha Mukht to ensure a safer and drug-free community.

Inauguration of Kitchudumra Picket Post at Birdhang Bridge to Strengthen Inter-District Security

Namchi, 1st December (IPR): A new Kitchudumra Picket Post under Namchi Police Station was inaugurated today by Mr Bhoj Raj Rai, Minister for Urban Development Department (UDD) at Birdhang Bridge, Kitchudumra in Namchi district, today.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Mr Karma Gyamtso Bhutia Sr SP Namchi, Mr Bikash Tiwari ASP Namchi, Mr Asish Bhujel SHO Namchi, along with police personnel, concerned officers and local public.

Mr Bhoj Raj Rai in his address commended Police department and the local public for their combined efforts in establishing the picket post, stating that it was a standing need of the area. He highlighted the strategic importance of the post, noting that several inter-district illegal activities had been reported in the area, making such a facility crucial for maintaining law and order.

He further appreciated the concern and initiative shown by the Police Department in pursuing the establishment of the picket post, stressing that the facility will strengthen efforts to curb drug trafficking.

Further, he acknowledged the department’s notable achievements in the ongoing fight against drugs. He went on to reaffirm his commitment to guiding the public towards a positive and constructive path.

Sr SP Namchi expressed gratitude to the local youths of Poklok-Kamrang for their contribution towards the establishment of the picket post. He lauded the strong partnership between the local public and the Police Department has been instrumental in realising this facility.

He also informed that the newly inaugurated picket post is proposed to be upgraded into an outpost very soon, and that an official notification in this regard will be issued in due course. He assured that proper law and order will be maintained from the facility to safeguard the region, particularly as Birdhang Bridge acts as a border between two districts.

Shree Shree Shree Bala Chaturdasi Celebration 2025 Culminates at Legship

Gyalshing, November 30 (IPR):The Shree Shree Shree Bala Chaturdasi Celebration-cum- Mela at Legship, Gyalshing District concluded with much festivity and religious inclusiveness, today.

Commenced on November 17, the fourteen-day-long celebration featured a series of captivating football matches under the Open Men's Football Tournament and traditional musical performances.

Minister of Roads and Bridges Department, Government of Sikkim, Mr NB Dahal graced the culmination day of the celebration as the Chief Guest, accompanied by MLA Barfung-cum-Advisor Mr Rikshal Dorjee Bhutia and MLA Maneybung-Dentam-cum-Advisor Mr Sudesh Kumar S***a as Guests of Honour in esteemed presence of Area MLA Gyalshing Bermiok-cum-Advisor Mr Lok Nath Sharma, District Collector Gyalshing Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa, SP Gyalshing Mr Tshering Sherpa, Chairpersons, OSDs, Zilla Panchayats, Panchayats, Officers from line departments, BDOs, Principals, Teachers, Students of the peripheral schools, and the public at large.

The Chief Guest, Mr Dahal in his address, expressed delighted at being part of the celebration that is observed with utmost spirituality in a historically significant place of the state. He mentioned that the primary focus of the state government, under the leadership of the Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang(Golay)is steadfast in upholding the sanctity of the religious places in the state.
Minister Dahal even briefly highlighted on the recent decision of the Government of India to blacktop the Baghpool to Rangpo (National Highway) and mentioned about the considered developmental initiatives that are poised to facelift the Melli-Jorethang and Jorethang to Legship road. In a similar note, Minister Dahal praised District Collector Gyalshing for his voluntary initiatives undertaken in the district that had been effectively addressed the aspirations of the public and stated, "DC Gyalshing is a prominent example of public service," the Minister said.

Minister Dahal, further in his address, advised Panchayats to diligently undertake the responsibility of working collectively for community upliftment and assist the State Government in its aspiration of effective implementation of the beneficial schemes. He urged officers to prioritise the aspirations of the general public and provide assistance on the humanitarian grounds.

Area MLA-Cum-Advisor Gyalshing Bermiok Mr Sharma, underscored the persistent efforts of the State Government under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister of Sikkim toward the well-being and welfare of the state and its people.

Mr Sharma maintained that the State Government is fully committed to ensuring all spiritually significant places of worship across the state are well preserved and aesthetic values are upheld.

Mr Sharma noted the public-centric initiatives undertaken in the constituency and mentioned the aspirations of the Chief Minister for its holistic development. He firmly believed that, under the able guidance of the Chief Minister and the Minister of the Roads and Bridges Department, Government of Sikkim, the constituency is poised to witness appropriate addressal to their aspirations.

Mr Sharma emphasised the need for collaborative efforts from all, irrespective of personal affiliations, and encouraged extending voluntary support to the State Government to enhance the overall stature of the constituency.

Mementos were also conferred upon the Chief Guest, MLA Barfung , MLA Maneybung-Dentam, Area MLA Gyalshing-Bermiok,DC Gyalshing, SP Gyalshing, Sikkim Police and others by the Organising Committee.

The day-long celebration also featured ceremonial events of Deep Prajwalan and Swasti Vachan by Gurukul Legship; a spiritual dance performance by Uchatar Sanskrit Pathshala; and colorful cultural dances by the students of peripheral schools.

In the final match of the much-anticipated football tournament in the Open Men's Football Tournament, Boot Camp FC (Hingdam, Namchi District) faced Chatyang FC (2nd Bn IRBn), with the final score on board registering two goals against none at full-time. Boot Camp FC , with the leading score, lifted the Championship Trophy of the tournament. Jersey No. 17 , Mr Kiran Gurung from Boot Camp FC, was named Man of the Match, and Player of the Tournament was Jersey No. 5, Mr Amrit Tamang from the latter team.

Later, in the premises of Shree Shree Shree Kirateshwar Shivlai Dham, the Chief Guest, along with the esteemed dignitaries, offered prayers and thereafter performed a Yagya (Fire Ritual) for Bliss, Tranquility , and Abundance in the state at the designated Yagya spot.

The dignitaries also sought blessings at the Gumpa situated at the SSSKSD premises and thereafter performed the sacred Ganga Aarti at the riverbank of the Rangit River, marking a successful culmination of Shree Shree Shree Bala Chaturdasi Celebration at Legship, Gyalshing District for the year 2025.
