SDM Lolab delivered his speech during the inauguration ceremony at BHSS Sogam.

Sep. 16 2025 : Athletic Meet under age group of u/14, u/17 and u/19 boys was held at zonal level in zone Sogam under the dynamic leadership of our Zonal Physical Education Officer Mr Fayaz Ahmad Tantray (PEM). The said event was started with proper pomp and show begining with National Anthem in which SDM Lolab Mr. Mudasir Ahmad Wani
participated as chief guest and worthy DYSSO Kupwara were as guest of honour. Besides these Peronilities ZEPO Sogam, principal BHSS Sogam and principal GHSS Sogam also showed their valuable presence. This event was aimed to show case the tallent of atheletes from different schools of the zone Sogam who took part actively. The meet included running, throwing and jumping events. SDM Lolab Mr. Mudasir Ahmad Wani while delivering his speech encouraged the efforts of field staff of YS&S zone Sogam and the participants as well and showed his full support for such activities. Worthy DYSSO Kupwara Mr Nazir Ahmad Bhat also encouraged the participants and field staff of YS&S zone Sogam and promised his full support for organising such events and providing the platform to the youth.

Inter-School zonal level Kho-Kho Competitions Culminate at M/S Jageer Sogam

The inter-school zonal level Kho-Kho competitions for Girls organized by the Zonal Physical Education Office Sogam, successfully culminated at M/S Jageer Sogam. This event was a significant step in promoting sports within the Sogam zone, aligning with the Department of Youth Services & Sports' mission to foster athletic excellence across various disciplines.
Over the course of four days, students from multiple schools participated in intense Kho-Kho matches, showcasing their skills and competitive spirit. The day was dedicated to the girls competitions across all age categories.
In the Under-14 category, UPS Sheikhpora Lalpora emerged victorious, clinching the winner's trophy after a thrilling final against UPS Hayatpora. In the Under-17 category, BHS Chandigam secured the championship by defeating *GHSS Sogam* in a closely contested match.in u/19 winner GHSS Sogam.
The event not only highlighted the talent and enthusiasm of young athletes in the region but also reinforced the importance of sports as a key element of youth development. The Department of Youth Services & Sports/ Zonal Physical Education Office Sogam, remains committed to nurturing and encouraging sportsmanship and athletic talent among students.
