💔 Heartbreaking Tragedy in Pahalgam 💔
On April 22, 2025, a horrific terror attack struck Baisaran Valley, near Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, claiming the lives of 26-28 tourists and injuring several others. This is one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in the region in decades. 😢
Here’s what we know so far:
🕒 The attack occurred around 3 PM when terrorists opened fire on tourists in the scenic meadows, known as “Mini Switzerland.”
🇮🇳 Victims included tourists from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and an IAF officer from Arunachal Pradesh.
🚨 The Resistance Front (TRF), linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility. Suspects identified include Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha.
🛑 Security forces, including the Army, CRPF, and J&K Police, have launched a massive manhunt. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is assisting.
💵 J&K Govt announced ₹10L ex-gratia for families of the deceased, ₹2L for seriously injured, and ₹1L for others injured.
✈️ Airlines like IndiGo and Air India are offering waivers on rescheduling/cancellations and operating extra flights from Srinagar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his Saudi Arabia visit to address the crisis, and Home Minister Amit Shah visited the site for a security assessment. The nation mourns, with tributes from leaders, celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, and global figures like US President Donald Trump. 🌍
