On 31st July 2025, the Awami Itihad Party Zaingair Block, along with residents of Watlab and Muqam-i-Shaheed Mir, held a peaceful protest under the leadership of Block President Syed Alias Ahmad Nazki, Vice President Mohammad Shaffi Wani, and Senior Leader Mubashir Mushtaq Reshi.

The protest was organized to raise concerns over the Jal Jeevan Mission project, which was completed nearly a year ago but still remains non-functional. Locals expressed deep frustration over the continued water crisis, which has been affecting the area for a long time, and demanded immediate action from the concerned authorities.

The Grand Finale of the North Kashmir Kilo T20 Cricket League (Phase-I) concluded on Thursday at Mazbug Ground, Sopore, with Sopore XI emerging victorious in a thrilling final against Shatgund Cricket Club. The action-packed tournament, held under the aegis of the Indian Army, highlighted the talent, passion, and spirit of young cricketers from the region.

In a closely contested final match, Sopore XI held their nerves to clinch the Phase-I title of the Sopore edition. Both Sopore XI and Shatgund Cricket Club have now secured their spots in Phase-II of the tournament, where they will represent Sopore, Rafiabad, and Qaziabad at the next level.

The event drew an enthusiastic crowd, with community leaders and locals cheering on the players. The match stood out as a true display of sportsmanship, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony was attended by distinguished guests who applauded the efforts and discipline of all participating teams. The tournament was part of an Indian Army initiative to empower youth, promote unity, and use sports as a means of peacebuilding in the region.

Historic Three-Day Tableeghi Ijtima Set to Return to Jammu & Kashmir After 37 Years

Sopore, July 2025: After a long wait of nearly four decades, Jammu and Kashmir is set to witness one of the largest religious gatherings in its recent history. A three-day Tableeghi Ijtima is scheduled to be held at Warpora, Sopore on September 5th, 6th, and 7th, 2025, InshaAllah.

This grand event is being organized under the guidance of the World Tableeghi Markaz, Bangla Wali Masjid Nizamuddin (Delhi) — the central hub for the global Tableeghi Jamaat movement. The upcoming Ijtima marks a historic revival, as the last major gathering of this kind took place in 1988 at Eidgah, Srinagar.

Preparations Underway

Given the scale of the Ijtima, organizers are working in close coordination with the administration to ensure smooth planning and ex*****on. Arrangements for water, electricity, traffic control, security, medical aid, and crowd management are being discussed.

Moreover, youth volunteers from various towns and villages are being mobilized to assist with parking, food distribution, and helping visitors coming from across Kashmir and other parts of India.

A Call to Unity and Faith

This Ijtima is not just a religious program; it is a powerful symbol of Islamic brotherhood and a call to return to the basics of deen (religion). With sermons focusing on the love of Allah (SWT), the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the importance of dawah, the gathering will be a deeply spiritual experience for all who attend.
