The Thonpo Gangri Karpo series is back with another video specifically created to spread and to let the youth of Spiti acknowledge the rich folk history of Spiti dating decades back.
The artists in this video are mainly students and have a good knowledge about performing as well as non-performing arts sustaining in Spiti.
The Tibetan subtitles are deliberately provided to make the folk song easily understandable to the lay people.
The song Chhoy Da Dawa Gupa was officially dedicated to HE Tokden Rinpoche (Kangyur Rinpoche), When His Eminence Visited Spiti First time in 1982.
I hope the youth of Spiti will appreciate the work that went into making this video. Apart from that this video might as well be an informative ones and may spark a curiousity among the youth to appreciate the rich folk culture of spiti.
