When the worlds grew heavy with imbalance, the devas looked toward Shiva, the eternal dancer. Upon a cliff above the cosmic abyss, beneath a blazing crescent of light, he began his divine dance — the Tandava.
Each beat of his damaru echoed through creation. Mountains trembled, stars swirled, and time itself seemed to pause. Yet his face remained serene, untouched by the storm of motion. For Shiva’s dance was not destruction alone — it was rhythm. Creation, preservation, dissolution, concealment, and grace flowed through every step.
A wandering rishi once witnessed this vision. Fear first filled his heart at the sight of such power. But as he watched closely, he understood — what perishes makes way for what is new. What breaks is reshaped. What ends becomes the seed of beginning.
When the dance slowed, the universe felt lighter, purified. The rishi bowed, realizing that surrender to change is the path to freedom. Shiva stood radiant, both stillness and motion, reminding all beings that life itself is a sacred dance.
Sanskrit Verse :
सृष्टिस्थितिलयकर्ता च ब्रह्मविष्णुहरात्मकः ।
एक एव परो देवः शिवः केवल ईश्वरः ॥
Meaning :
He who performs creation, preservation, and dissolution — who embodies Brahma, Vishnu, and Hara — is the one supreme Lord, Shiva, the only eternal God.
