Accountability Shock: J&K Govt Stops Pay Of 18 BDOs For Failing e-KYC Targets Under MGNREGA

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has withheld the salaries of 18 Block Development Officers (BDOs) for poor performance in completing e-KYC verification of MGNREGA workers. The move follows a review meeting chaired by the Secretary to the Government, who termed the low progress as “dereliction of duty.”
Officers from several blocks, including Kupwara, Trehgam, Rajwara, Harwan, Magam, and Srinagar, will not receive their October and November salaries until targets are met.
The order reflects the administration’s growing focus on accountability and digital transparency across all rural development projects.

*Govt notifies new timing for Kashmir schools*

Srinagar, Oct 31 : Director General School Education Kashmir G N Itoo Friday ordered change in school timing for all government and private schools from November-01.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Director General ordered that the schools falling in the Srinagar municipal limits shall function from 10am to 3Pm.

However the school falling outside the Srinagar municipal limits shall function from 10: 30am to 3:30pm.

“It is ordered that new School timing both in respect of government as well as recognised Private Schools in the Kashmir Division with effect from November-01
