Traffic Choked Around Tengpora Flyover, Sameer Bhat Calls for Opening Space Near BSF Camp*
Indian National Congress In-charge for Budgam constituency Sameer Bhat has raised concerns over traffic congestion around the Tengpora flyover, where construction work has recently commenced, and called for immediate measures to facilitate the smooth movement of commuters.
Addressing the media, Bhat said the ongoing flyover work has created additional traffic pressure in the area, making movement difficult for commuters. He suggested that opening up some space near the BSF camp located around Tengpora could help create an additional passage for traffic.
Bhat said that if the required space near the camp is made available, even by shifting the camp a few feet, it could significantly improve traffic movement and help establish smoother connectivity with different parts of Budgam district.
He said the matter has already been taken up with the Divisional Commissioner, and the administration has assured them that the issue would be examined and possible solutions explored.
Bhat also highlighted a connectivity-related concern at Sebdan, Budgam, and requested that the road on the northern side near the railway line be opened for commuters. He said the route could provide an alternative passage and help reduce pressure on existing roads.
Apart from traffic and connectivity, Bhat raised concerns over drinking water availability in several areas of Budgam, including Narbal, Aarth and Ompora, and urged the administration to address the difficulties faced by residents.
He called for coordinated efforts by the concerned departments to improve road connectivity, traffic management and basic public infrastructure across the district.
