Abdul Gani Vakil Demands Regularisation of Daily Wagers and Anganwadi Workers

Senior Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference and former Cabinet Minister of J&K Abdul Gani Vakil, has urged the government to fulfil its commitment towards the regularisation of daily wagers and Anganwadi workers.

Vakil recalled that during the last Assembly elections, the National Conference leadership had assured that 60,000 daily wagers would be made permanent. “It has been over a year since Omar Abdullah assumed office, yet no concrete steps have been taken in this regard,” Vakil said.

He emphasised that these workers, who have been serving the administration for years on meagre wages, deserve fair treatment and job security. Vakil appealed to the government to uphold its promises and take immediate measures to regularise these employees, ensuring justice and dignity for thousands of poor families across Jammu and Kashmir.
