Zaffer Mir highlights NC failures at the joining ceremony, Urges support for PDP

Srinagar, Sep 10: In a significant event at Bugam in the Chadoora constituency, J&K Peoples Democratic Party held a joining program marked by the presence of Assembly Candidate Yaseen Bhat and senior leader Zaffar Mir (Lasjan).

This gathering highlighted the party's commitment to reinforcing its presence and influence in the region.

Addressing the attendees, Zaffer Mir underscored the PDP's dedication to revitalizing the area, which he claims has suffered from neglect under the National Conference leadership since 1983.

Mir criticized the NC for its repeated failures to address the region's needs, accusing them of delivering inadequate infrastructural development and misleading the local populace.

Mir urged the people of Chadoora to unite and work tirelessly to ensure a PDP victory in the upcoming elections. He emphasized that a decisive win would serve as a fitting response to the betrayals and unfulfilled promises of past leaders.

Yaseen Bhat also extended a warm welcome to the new members, stressing the importance of strengthening the party’s base and fostering grassroots engagement.

The event concluded with local residents pledging their support and the newcomers committing to work diligently for the party's cause.

Muneeb Quraishi calls for age relaxation in J&K police recruitment

Urges JKSSB to adjust age limits for fairer & judicious recruitment

Srinagar, August 11: Seeking an urgent relaxation in the current age limit cap for police recruitment in Jammu and Kashmir, political leader Muneeb Quraishi has expressed concerns about many aspirants whose hopes are hanging in the balance.

In a recent post on X, he highlighted the challenges faced by the youth of the region due to prolonged unrest, which has disrupted their educational and career paths. The current age limits for SI and Constable positions (18-28 years) fail to account for these unique circumstances.

Quraishi pointed out that other states have recognized similar challenges, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, by granting age relaxations.

He urged the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) to consider revising the age criteria to create a more inclusive and fair recruitment process.

Expanding the eligible age range, according to Quraishi, would not only benefit the candidates but also strengthen the police force by broadening the pool of applicants.

He called on the authorities to make this change, emphasizing that Jammu and Kashmir deserves the same consideration as other states in addressing these critical issues.
