Srinagar, Jun 1: The Hajj Committee of Jammu and Kashmir has notified for the information of selected Hajj pilgrims to collect passports and other material from their respective district offices.

“All the Selected Pilgrims of Hajj 2023 who belong to Kashmir Division except Srinagar are hereby informed that they can collect their Passports and other material from their respective Deputy Commissioners’ office from 03/06/2023 during working hours on production of State Haj Dues Payment Slip (JK Bank Slip) and Passport receipt”, reads a notification as per GNS.

“Further, the Pilgrims of District Srinagar shall collect their Passports and other material from Haj House Bemina Srinagar from 03/06/2023 to 05/06/2023 during working hours on production of the above-mentioned documents”, reads the notification further. (GNS)

*DDC member booked after man accuses him of assault, harassment in Srinagar*

Srinagar, May 31 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday said it have booked a DDC member for wrongful restraint and voluntarily causing hurt after man accused him of assault and harassment in Srinagar.

Srinagar police, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) informed that the DDC member Aijaz Hussain Rather has been booked under section 323 and 341 IPC.

Police said the case was filed based on a complaint by two persons namely Nazim Hussain Bhat and Imad Ali Mir against the DDC member.

"On the basis of complaint lodged by Nazim Hussain Bhat & Imdad Ali Mir, FIR no 51/2023 u/s 323,341 of IPC dated 30.05.2023 registered in Panthachowk PS against DDC member Aijaz Hussain Rather on offences of wrongful restraint & voluntarily causing hurt," police tweeted—(KNO)

Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara reviews implementation of SBM-G Phase- II
Asks officers to make rural areas Clean, Green and impactful
KUPWARA, MAY 30; The Chairman District Development COuncil Kupwara Irfan Sultan Pandithpori on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G) Phase -II at the Meeting hall of the RDD complex Kupwara.
Review Meeting was attended by VIce Chairman District Development Council Kupwara, DDC members, BDC Chairpersons, ACD Kupwara, ACP Kupwara and all BDOs of the district.
During the meeting, the Chairman took a detailed review of the status/ implementation of SBM-G and waste management plan in rural areas of the district.
ACD Kupwara apprised the chair that having achieved the milestone of ODF Kupwara, in time bound manner in SBM Phase –I , sustainable efforts are on to achieve targets of SBM Phase –II (ODF PLUS).
It was informed through a detailed PowerPoint presentation that, a total of 56000 soakage pits have been constructed in Kupwara district for grey water management.
SSG survey of 490 Panchayats of the district has been allocated and completed and peer to peer verification of survey is on.
With regard to solid waste management, the chair was apprised that a target of 385 segregation Sheds (one segregation shed per Panachayat) has been fixed . Adminstrative approval for 237 segregation sheds in the district have been accorded already and 124 segregation sheds have been alloted till date and work on 70 segregation sheds is under progress.
DPRs of 22 Plastic waste management units, and 10 faecal Sledge Management units have been submitted to Directorate of Rural Sanitation for approval.In addition to this Location plan of 180 CSCs (Community sanitary Complexes)have been submitted to Directorate.
The Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara directed the concerned officers to speed up the pace of work and ensure completion of segregation sheds and other components of the SBM –II within the timeline.
Chairman asked the concerned officers to take on board the PRIs in planning and implementation phases.
On the ocasion Vice Chairman, DDC Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir impressed upon the officers and field functionaries of Rural development Department and Revenue department to work in coordination so that feasible places out of state land or kahchrai land are identified for ex*****on of segregation sheds and other SBM projects and cleanliness of villages in Kupwara district is ensured.

Yesterday on 27th of may 2023
an important meeting was held at Dak Bunglow Kupwara which was headed by Mohd Anwar Khan sahab(Prabhari BJP Kupwara). Other senoir party leadership of our district including BJP district president ab rehman lone sahib ,and district presidents of different wings including me.The importance of the meeting was to make sure that the programmes under Maha Jan Samparkh Ambhiyaan are to be made sucessful and beneficial in each and every aspect for our party in our district from 30th of May till 30th of June. This programme is meant to aware people about different schemes lanched by our modi Govt for the welfare of people in recent 9 years years.All the responsibles of the party are given the directions to uplift the party at grass root level and to work for the betterment of the general public.

Chief Agriculture officer Kupwara Gurdeep Singh,SDO Trehgam Pirzada Gh Nabi toured various areas of the district Kupwara along with the team of Agriculture, to distribute the seedlings in affected areas.
The Chief Agriculture Kupwara on the occasion toured several villages including, Luderwan, Kawari, Zirhama, Lidernag and several other villages . He visited several orchards, vegetable farms and paddy fields to distribute seedlings in farmers.

During the visit, the CAO interacted with the affected farmers and assured of every possible assistance by the government. On the occassion Chief instructed Agriculture officers to provide technical guidance to the farmers to handle the post hailstorm situation.
He asked the farmers to follow and implement the instructions given to them by the departmental experts and concerned field officers, so that the impact of the losses could be minimised.

The farmers were appraised about the recently launched central crop insurance scheme "Pradhan Mantri fasal bhima yojana" by UT Government and its importance in securing the farmers from adverse climatic conditions. The farmers were detailed about the benefits of scheme and were appealed to come forward and register their crops under the scheme to avails benefits
