Dura Launches Italian Technology-Based PPR Range in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 10: A new range of Dura Italian PPR pipes, fittings and water storage tanks series was launched here on Sunday, May 10, 2026 by former cabinet minister and founding President of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by senior party leaders, distributors, stockists and members of the business community.

Company representatives said the newly launched range is manufactured using high-quality Italian raw material and is designed to survive extreme weather conditions. They termed it the first product of its kind in the region and said it reflects the success of the “Make in India” initiative.

The Board of Directors said the products are manufactured according to international standards and are capable of competing in global markets. They also highlighted the durability, quality and advanced technology used in the production of the PPR pipes, fittings and water storage tanks.

Speaking on the occasion, Altaf Bukhari appreciated the initiative and stressed the importance of quality infrastructure and modern technology in industrial growth and public utility services.

Little Feet, Big Spirit: Foundation World School Hosts Energetic Cross Country Run at Kashmir University

Srinagar, May 9: In a vibrant celebration of fitness, enthusiasm, and holistic learning, Foundation World School successfully organised a Cross Country Run for students from UKG to Grade 3 on Saturday at the scenic campus of University of Kashmir.

The event aimed to promote physical fitness, endurance, discipline, and sportsmanship among young learners while reinforcing the school’s vision of nurturing well-rounded individuals through meaningful co-curricular engagement.

The campus came alive with excitement as students participated with remarkable energy, determination, and team spirit. Their spirited involvement reflected the school’s continued efforts to instill healthy habits and encourage a positive attitude toward physical activity from an early age.

The occasion was graced by several distinguished dignitaries from the University of Kashmir and the local administration, including Prof. Naseer Iqbal, Registrar, University of Kashmir; Prof. Pervez Ahmad; Dr. Shahid Ali Khan; and Mr. Ashiq Hussain. Their presence added prestige to the event and served as a source of encouragement for the participating students.

The programme was also attended by the leadership team of Foundation World School, including Mr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, Ms. Zia Nisar, Mr. Faizan-ul-Islam, Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Koul, Mr. Junaid Kochak, and Ms. Syed Asma Hamid.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Mr. Faizan-ul-Islam expressed delight over the enthusiastic participation of the students and appreciated the collective efforts behind the successful ex*****on of the event. He extended special thanks to the school’s Physical Education Department for conceptualising and organising the programme with excellence. He also commended the Ideation Team for the event’s aesthetics and visual presentation, while acknowledging the unwavering cooperation of the leadership team, teachers, and support staff.

Registrar, University of Kashmir, Prof. Naseer Iqbal lauded the school for organising a thoughtfully designed initiative that introduced young learners to the values of fitness, discipline, and exploration.

“We appreciate Foundation World School, Illahi Bagh for taking this meaningful initiative to promote physical fitness and holistic development among its students. The University of Kashmir remains a space of learning, inspiration, and discovery, and our gates are always open to young students who come here to explore, engage, and be motivated by this vibrant environment,” he said.

He further congratulated the participating students and praised the school leadership for creating enriching experiences beyond the classroom.

The Cross Country Run concluded on a highly positive note, earning appreciation from guests and school leadership alike for its seamless organisation and enthusiastic participation. The event once again highlighted Foundation World School’s steadfast commitment to integrating academics with activities that foster physical, emotional, and social development among students.
