उपलब्धि किसी राजनीतिक नेता या अभिनेता थलपति विजय के निजी काम का परिणाम नहीं है। यह कार्य तमिलनाडु वन विभाग (Tamil Nadu Forest Department), स्थानीय मछुआरों, वालंटियर्स और तटीय समुदायों के सामूहिक प्रयासों द्वारा किया गया है।

तमिलनाडु के वन विभाग ने 2026 के इस नेस्टिंग सीजन में कुल 1,985 घोंसलों (Nests) की सुरक्षा की और लगभग 2.29 लाख अंडों को संरक्षित किया, जिसमें से 1.65 लाख से अधिक नवजात कछुओं (Hatchlings) को सुरक्षित समुद्र में पहुँचाया गया

तमिलनाडु वन विभाग और संस्थाएँ हर साल दशकों से यह संरक्षण अभियान चलाती आ रही हैं।

सीएम बनते ही विजय का काम शुरू समुद्र में 1.65 लाख कछुए छोड़े गए ताकि पर्यावरण सुरक्षित रहे। क्योंकि जहाँ कछुए ज्यादा होते हैं, वहाँ समुद्री घास और Coral Reefs ज्यादा लंबे समय तक स्वस्थ रहते हैं और पर्यावरण भी स्वस्थ रहता हैं।
