Students were having lunch at the BJ Medical College hostel mess in Ahmedabad’s Meghani Nagar when tragedy struck. An Air India flight AI-171, bound for London Gatwick, crashed into the residential area just minutes after take-off from Ahmedabad airport. 💔

👉🏼 The Boeing 787 aircraft was carrying 242 people, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud explosion and seeing thick black smoke rise from the crash site.

👉🏼 Officials fear several students may be among the dɇad or injʉred. Three NDRF teams from Gandhinagar and more from Vadodara were rushed to the scene.

👉🏼 Airport operations were suspended, and key roads were sealed. Authorities say an investigation is underway into possible technical or human errors.
