Srinagar Gunfight: Two AuGH Militants killed: ADGP Kashmir

Says Both Were Involved in killing of a West Bengal Labourer

Srinagar, September 14:(GNS) Police on Wednesday identified both the militants who were killed in a gunfight at Nowgam area of Central Kashmir's Srinagar district.

While Quoting ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, The Kashmir Police Zone wrote on twitter, "Killed militants were affiliated with militant outfit AGuH & identified as Aijaz Rasool Nazar of Pulwama & Shahid Ahmad @ Abu Hamza. They were involved in recent militant attack on an outside labourer namely Muneer ul Islam from West Bengal on 2/9/22 in Pulwama.

Pertinently Both Shahid resident of Malpora Budgam and Ajaz Rasool Najar of Karimabad had gone missing few days ago.(GNS)

Man Arrested in Srinagar After Seen in Video Trying to Throw Infant into River: Police

Srinagar, September 14:(GNS) A man was arrested on Wednesday by police in Srinagar after a Video went viral in which he was allegedly seen trying throwing Infant into river.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that a video was uploaded on the social media where a man is allegedly seen trying to throw an infant into a river.

According to Police spokesman, Taking cognizance of the fact, Srinagar police acted swiftly and apprehended the person namely Mohd Abbas resident of Shar Shali Pulwama.

Who disclosed that his wife had delivered a male baby who was stillborn(dead at birth) and to save the inconvenience of carrying the dead baby back to his native village he tried to dispose off his body into the river. But then people interrupted him and he carried the baby back to his native village and performed his last rites there, he said.

The facts are being cross checked from the medical records and witnesses, reads the statement.(GNS)

Man using Fake Twitter Handle of SSP Shopian arrested in UP: Police

He Was Notorious Criminal, who was Demanding Money from People through the Fake Twitter Handle of IPS Officer

Srinagar, September 14:(GNS) Police on Wednesday said that a notorious criminal was arrested with the assistance of UP police from UP, who was operating fake account in the name of IPS officer Tanu Shree.

Shopian Police on twitter wrote "Notorious criminal involved in operating fake Twitter handle in the name of Tanu Shree IPS SSP Shopian and demanding money and sharing objectionable updates on Twitter has been arrested from District Pratapgarh UP with the assistance of UP Police".(GNS)

6 feared dead in Poonch road accident

Poonch, Sep 14 (KNO): At least six people have died in a road accident that took place in Saujiyan area of Poonch district on Wednesday morning.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a bus, on its way to Mandi from Saujiyan, rolled down into a deal gorge.

He said that in the incident at least six people have been reported dead while several others were injured.

He said that soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched by police, army and locals and injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.

The official added that condition of several injured persons is stated to be critical—(KNO)

Hanging Body of Youth Found in Gutlipora Kupwara; Case Registered

Kupwara, Sep 13 (GNS): A 25-year-old youth was on Tuesday morning found hanging in Gutlipora village of north Kashmir's Kupwara district, sources said.

They told GNS that one Jaffar Ahmad Najar, son of Wali Mohammad Najar was found hanging by a rope at his home. "In a bid to rescue him, the family members and locals shifted the youth to SDH Kupwara, where he was however declared as brought dead on arrival."

Confirming the incident, a police official told GNS that a case has been registered for due investigations. (GNS)

Shopian Encounter: Army Personnel Injured, Operation Continues

Srinagar, September 12:(GNS) An Army trooper was injured in a gunfight at Heff Shirmal area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday, officials said.

A top police officer told GNS that during intial exchange of fire one Army soldier recieved splinter injuries.

He has been shifted to 92 Base Hospital for advanced treatment, the officer added.

Earlier, an unidentified militant was also killed during intial of fire with police and army. More details will follow.(GNS)

Shopian Encounter: 01 militant killed, operation on

Srinagar, September 12:(GNS) One militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Heff Shirmal area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.

Official sources told GNS, that one militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter, however identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.

Earlier Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Heff Shirmal.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.(GNS)
