Srinagar, July 26 (JKNS): The Jammu & Kashmir Health and Medical Education Department has made mandatory for doctors and paramedical staff in all government healthcare institutions to wear white aprons and display legible name plates during duty hours.

According to the circular a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, the department observed that many healthcare professionals were not adhering to the prescribed norms, causing inconvenience to patients in identifying doctors and staff.

“All doctors, including those engaged under NHM and Ayush, as well as all paramedical staff working in government healthcare institutions across Jammu & Kashmir, are directed to wear proper white aprons and legible name plates displaying their full name and designation during working hours,” the order reads.

The circular, signed by Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary to the Government, also directed all heads of institutions, medical superintendents, and chief medical officers to ensure strict compliance with these instructions in their respective facilities. (JKNS)

“No one spoke to us”: CM Omar responds to Congress over statehood protest

NC was first to pass statehood resolution in cabinet, but debate couldn’t happen Due to prevailing circumstances; VP Dhankhar’s Resignation Unprecedented.

Srinagar, July 22 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Tuesday dismissed Congress allegations that his party did not support their protest over the restoration of statehood, saying no prior discussion or coordination was made with his party on the issue.

“First of all, talk to us,” Omar said while speaking to reporters during his visit to Safapora. “We only read about these protests in the newspapers. No one reached out to us directly. Even during the recent INDIA bloc meeting, this issue wasn’t raised. Had they discussed it, we would not have hesitated to support it.”

He said that the National Conference was among the first to formally raise the demand for the return of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. “We passed the resolution in the Cabinet and brought it to the Assembly. Unfortunately, due to prevailing circumstances, the resolution could not be debated,” he said, adding that the party’s position on the matter remains firm and unchanged.

Responding to the Congress protest held recently, Omar said, “It is a good thing they have now raised their voice, but if they need support, they should coordinate with us. Our party will certainly participate constructively.”

During his visit to Safapora, Omar also met with the family of a murdered woman and assured full support in their pursuit of justice. “The case has been registered and, God willing, justice will be done,” he said. “This case represents our broader promise of justice, and we will ensure it is fulfilled.”

Omar expressed concern over the condition of the victim’s family, particularly the eldest son, who is suffering from a spinal injury and is unable to walk. “They have requested government assistance, and we will do everything possible to support their appeal,” he said, offering prayers for their well-being.

On the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Omar called it an unprecedented development. “This is the first time that a Vice President has resigned. It is clear that his health did not permit him to continue in office,” he said. “I pray for his recovery and a long life. Let’s hope that whoever takes over next will uphold the dignity of the post and serve with justice.”..

iPhones Must Be Made in America or Face 25 percent Tariff: Trump

President Donald Trump has announced that he is “recommending” a 50% tariff on goods imported from the European Union to the United States.

In a post on social media on Friday, Trump expressed frustration over stalled negotiations with EU representatives.

“Our discussions with them are going nowhere!” he wrote.

This development marks a significant escalation in Trump’s ongoing trade dispute with the European Union, which currently faces a 10% tariff on goods entering the U.S.

In addition, the former president renewed his warning to Apple, threatening a 25% import tax on iPhones not manufactured in the United States.

“I have long ago informed Tim Cook of Apple that I expect iPhones sold in the United States to be manufactured and built in the United States, not in India or anyplace else,” Trump said.
“If that is not the case, a tariff of at least 25% must be paid by Apple to the United States.”

Since returning to the White House, President Trump has imposed and threatened various tariffs against multiple countries, viewing them as measures to boost U.S. manufacturing and safeguard American jobs from foreign competition..

*CM Omar blames PDP for current situation in J&K*

*Says those who watched destruction of region in BJP's lap as mute spectators are targeting him for a picture with Union Minister in Tulip Garden*

Sajid Raina

Srinagar, Apr 09 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday blamed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for prevailing situation in the region and said those who once aligned with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and remained silent during critical times are now levelling allegations against him for clicking a picture with Union Minister.

Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “Today, the people who are accusing me for clicking a picture with Union Minister are the ones who sat in BJP’s lap and talked about milk and toffees, and watched the destruction of Jammu and Kashmir without raising their voice.”

He said some members used a photograph taken with a Union Minister during a chance meeting at the Tulip Garden to raise questions about him. “I had taken my father to the garden, and a central minister happened to be present. He asked for a photograph with me. What was I supposed to do refuse or misbehave? I took the photo,” Abdullah said.

He added that using such the picture to target him was unjust, especially by those who helped BJP to enter into Jammu and Kashmir politics. “These are the same people who have never apologised to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the 2016 killings,” he said.

Abdullah said many wird things have taken place in his absence in the House.

He added that as elected representatives, they are expected to raise public concerns inside the Assembly. “If we don’t raise people’s issues in the House, where else will we raise them?” he said.

On the future course of action over Waqf Amendment Bill, Omar said that the National Conference leadership or spokesperson would respond accordingly—(KNO)
