South Kashmir | Fruit Growers Voice Grievances
BJP J&K President Ravindra Raina today visited various fruit mandis of South Kashmir along with Showkat Ahmad Gayoor and the District Body Pulwama. He patiently listened to the concerns of fruit growers and sellers, who demanded compensation for the heavy losses suffered due to the frequent closure of the National Highway.

The growers lamented that despite facing such hardships for the last 40/50 years, their pleas remain unheard. They said crores of rupees worth of produce is lost every season and questioned: “Aakhir kab Kashmir ko iss pareshani se nijaat milegi?”

Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un. We mourn the loss of Prof. Abdul Ghani Bhat, former Hurriyat leader and academic, who passed away this evening at his residence in Sopore, North Kashmir, at the age of 90, following a brief illness. Born in 1935 in Botingoo, Sopore, Prof. Bhat's distinguished career included co-founding the Muslim United Front (MUF) in 1986, serving as chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), and leading the Muslim Conference, Jammu & Kashmir. As a visionary and moderate leader, he consistently promoted dialogue and condemned violence, shutdowns, and extremism as means to achieve political objectives. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah, and may his family find strength during this time of loss. His passing is a significant personal loss to Kashmir.
