Abdul Rashid Tantray of Bemina Housing Colony has alleged that he was assaulted by his son, Muneer Ahmed Tantray, on the night of 26 December. He claimed his son accused him of theft, beat him, and later attacked him with a butcher’s knife, causing injuries. Neighbours rescued him, preventing a possible fatal outcome.
He said he reported the matter at Police Station Bemina, but alleged that his son had already presented himself as the victim. Despite showing injury marks, he claimed no police action has been taken so far, and the knife has not been recovered.
He further alleged that his son’s father-in-law, Ghulam Hassan Shah of Dangarpora, Ganderbal, a Sub-Inspector, is supporting his son-in-law. Abdul Rashid has appealed to the IG Kashmir, SSP Srinagar, and SP Bemina for protection and justice, holding Bemina Police Station responsible if anything happens to him.
