*Teenager Dead, Another Critical in Samboora Pampore Road Accident*

Srinagar, July 27: A 15-year-old boy was killed and another person critically injured in a road accident at Samboora area of Pampore in Pulwama district on Sunday evening.

Officials told news agency JKNS that the accident took place when a Tavera vehicle collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the on-spot death of the bike rider identified as Burhan Ahmad Akhoon, son of a resident of Tanchibagh Frestbal Pampore.

Another injured youth 19-year-old, resident of Tulbagh Pampore, was shifted to SDH Pampore for initial treatment and later referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar in critical condition, they said.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation has been started.

🔘👉🏻 Charar-e-Sharief (Kashmir), Jul 27:It has been three decades since the 66-day siege at the revered Charar-e-Sharief shrine, yet the memory of the harrowing standoff between terrorists and security forces remains vivid in the minds of residents who saw death and destruction ravaging their ancient town.

On May 11, 1995, the siege ended with a fire, ignited by cornered terrorists as a final desperate measure to escape, destroying the 14th-century shrine of the venerated saint Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani (Nund Reshi), the nearby mosque and a large part of the surrounding area as thousands of residents lost their homes and livelihood.

Srinagar, July 26 (JKNS): The Jammu & Kashmir government has appointed an Enquiry Officer to probe the recent incident at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, which led to the abrupt closure of Operating Theatres (OTs) at SMHS Hospital on July 23.

As per Government Order, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, Shri Baseer ul Haq Chaudhary (IAS), Mission Director, National Health Mission J&K, has been appointed as the Enquiry Officer to conduct a comprehensive examination of the facts and circumstances related to the incident.

The order, issued by Secretary to the Government, Health & Medical Education Department, mandates the officer to assess the immediate events that triggered the closure of the OTs, evaluate whether the shutdown was avoidable, and identify individuals responsible for any dereliction of duty or violation of protocol.

The Enquiry Officer has also been directed to suggest corrective measures to enhance administrative coordination and ensure such disruptions are prevented in future. Mohammad Ashraf Hakak (JKAS), Administrator Associated Hospitals, GMC Srinagar, will serve as the Presenting Officer in the case.

The officer has been asked to submit the report within 15 days from the issuance of the order.

On July 23, the OTs at SMHS Hospital were shut down following an assault on a doctor. The closure sparked outrage as several surgeries were postponed, leading to patient distress and widespread criticism of the hospital administration for failing to maintain smooth functioning during the crisis. SRINAGAR JULY 25:- In a significant move towards youth empowerment and promoting self-reliance, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, today handed over Sanction Letters to the beneficiaries of Mission YUVA initiative aimed to support entrepreneurs in establishing self-employment generating units in the district.

In this regard, an event was organized at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex which was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Rifat Aftab Qureshi, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Divisional Head J&K Bank, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Zonal Head J&K Bank, Raja Zaffar Khan, Deputy Director Employment, Dr Sheeba Inayat, DSWO, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, LDM(Banks), Nilofer Jan,Heads of various J&K Bank Business Units and other concerned, alongside a large number of Mission YUVA beneficiaries from different parts of the Srinagar District.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner handed over the 201 sanction letters to aspiring entrepreneurs under Mission YUVA initiative whose proposals had been approved after thorough evaluation by the District Level Implementation Committee(DLIC) marking a significant moment in the district administration’s efforts to empower youth through sustainable self-employment ventures and foster economic growth by enabling youth to earn their livelihood in a dignified manner.

Speaking on the occasion, DC underlined that the Administration is working hard to create a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Srinagar District. He urged upon expeditious disposal of all Mission YUVA cases so that maximum benefits reach the aspiring entrepreneurs swiftly.

He emphasized that the scheme is designed in a clear cut manner for easy access, enabling beneficiaries to receive benefits in a hassle free mode directly without unnecessary visits to different Government Offices.

The DC also commended the inter-departmental cooperation involving DIC, Employment, JKEDI, NRLM, and Banks to facilitate quick processing of cases & sanctioning and credit disbursement. He stated that the progress achieved in Srinagar is a promising sign for promoting self-employment and boosting the local economy by generating jobs.

The senior Officers of Jammu & Kashmir Bank while speaking on the occasion, described the “Mission YUVA a unique flagship programme launched by the Government that has witnessed support of entire government machinery right from the conception to implementation to ensure that youth can avail maximum benefits without hassles. They assured that the Bank will make every possible effort to make the Mission YUVA a success initiative to empower youth through sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Pertinent to mention that, the Jammu & Kashmir Bank today organized multiple Login Day events titled as ‘Roz-e-YUVA’ in Kashmir and ‘Udyami YUVA Day’ across Jammu & Kashmir. These events were aimed at handing over loan sanction letters to Mission YUVA beneficiaries to help them establish their own ventures. Such Login Day events will be conducted on a weekly basis throughout the Mission YUVA period.

Earlier, Deputy Director Employment noted the enthusiastic response from the district’s youth to Mission YUVA, which aims to empower them through self-employment opportunities.

SRINAGAR JULY 25:- Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo Friday chaired a meeting of District Level Screening cm Coordination Committee (DLSCC) here at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex to review the the cases/claims submitted under SRO-43 by NoKs of killed in terror related incidents in Srinagar District.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Adil Fareed, SP headquarter, Umer Shah, Additional SP CID, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tahir Sajad, District Social Welfare Officer, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, all Tehsildars, senior officers from BSF, Army, and other security agencies, besides officials from the concerned Departments.

At the outset, the Committee held a comprehensive deliberation on cases/claims submitted under SRO-43 by NoKs of those killed in terror related incidents in Srinagar District. After a detailed examination, the Committee recommended 30 cases to government for consideration for compassionate appointment under SRO-43 in the first go.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the concerned Officers to ensure speedy disposal of all such cases for timely clearance of the cases. He emphasized that in a streamlined & coordinated manner, the effort should be to bring down the pendency of such cases to nil.

The DC also underlined the importance of a proactive and coordinated approach among all stakeholders to ensure speedy disposal of cases.

*ACB arrests Patwari for accepting bribe in Jammu*

Jammu, Jul 25 : Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday said to trapped and arrested a Patwari from Patwar Halqa Dansal, Jammu for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 20,000.
A spokesman in a statement, said that Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau received a complaint alleging therein that public servant namely Chuni Lal, Patwari Patwar Halqa Dansal, demanded illegal gratification from the complainant for providing demarcation report.
"The accused Chuni Lal, Patwari, Patwar Halqa Dansal, demanded the bribe amounting to Rs 1,00,000 from the complainant for providing report of demarcation and after negotiation, the accused Chuni Lal has agreed to receive Rs 75,000 and demanded 1st installment of Rs 25,000 as bribe. However, the complainant could not arrange Rs 25,000 as 1st installment and instead he managed to arrange Rs 20,000 only," the spokesman said.
"Since, the complainant didn’t want to pay a bribe he approached ACB for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law," he added.
On receipt of the complaint, a discreet verification was conducted, which corroborated the demand of bribe by the public servant concerned and accordingly, a case FIR No. 15/2025 U/S 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered in Police Station ACB Jammu and investigation taken up, he said.
"During the course of investigation, a trap team headed by Gazetted rank officer was constituted. The team laid a successful trap and accused public servant was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs 20,000 from the complainant in the presence of independent witnesses. The accused was arrested on the spot by the ACB team after following due process of law. The bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses associated with the trap team," the spokesman added.
"Moreover, searches were also conducted in the office and in-laws house of the accused in presence of independent witnesses and Magistrates," ACB said, adding that further investigation of the instant case is going on.
