Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization Programme Launched in Larnoo SubdivisionOn December 21, 2025, the Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization Programme was formally inaugurated by the esteemed Sub-Divisional Magistrate, in the presence of the Block Medical Officer (BMO), Larnoo, at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kokernag.The programme aims to achieve 100% coverage of the target population of children aged 0 to 5 years, which stands at 26,464 in the subdivision. To support this initiative, approximately 30,000 doses of polio vaccine have been made available.A total of 453 personnel have been deployed for the campaign, including staff at 111 polio vaccination booths and 2 transit points. Additionally, 23 supervisory staff have been assigned to oversee operations.It is anticipated that 90–95% of the target population will be covered on the first day through booth-based vaccination. The remaining children will be reached through house-to-house visits conducted by the deployed teams on December 22 and 23, 2025, ensuring full immunization coverage.
