Sopore, June 08, 2026:

Acting on specific information, *Sopore Police detected a case of forest theft in the Warpora forest area and apprehended one accused involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of forest produce.*

A police party from *Police Post Warpora rushed to the spot after receiving credible information regarding the illegal felling and theft of willow timber from the forest area. During the operation, one individual was found transporting illegally felled willow logs on a horse cart.*

The accused has been identified as:

*Manzoor Ahmad Ganaie S/O Mohammad Shabir Ganaie R/O Jalalabad, Sopore.*

The stolen willow timber along with the horse cart used for its transportation was seized on the spot.

In this connection, *FIR No. 136/2026 under Section 303(2) BNS and Section 26-F of the Forest Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore* and investigation has been taken up.

*Sopore Police remains committed to protecting forest resources and preventing illegal felling, theft and transportation of timber. Strict legal action shall be taken against all those found involved in forest offences and environmental crimes.*

*Sopore Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards activities causing damage to forests and natural resources and appeals to the public to report any such illegal activities to the nearest police station.*

*Doda Police Arrests Lady Drug Peddler at Sadeeqaabad; Approx. 32 Grams of He**in (Chitta)-Like Substance Recovered*

Doda, June 08, 2026:

Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Doda Police achieved another significant success by arresting a lady drug peddler and recovering approximately 32 grams of he**in (Chitta)-like substance from her possession.

Acting on reliable information regarding the illegal sale of narcotic substances, a police team of Police Station Doda, led by SHO PS Doda under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Doda, conducted a swift operation at Sadeeqaabad, Doda.

During the operation, Mst. Gulshan Begum, wife of Yasar Ahmad and resident of Sadeeqaabad, Doda, was apprehended. Upon search, approximately 32 grams of he**in (Chitta)-like substance was recovered from her possession. The accused was subsequently arrested and booked under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.

Accordingly, FIR No. 150/2026 under Sections 08/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Doda. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the contraband and identify any forward and backward linkages connected with the narcotics network.

Doda Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and appeals to the public to actively cooperate in the fight against the drug menace by sharing information related to narcotics and substance abuse. The identity of informants shall be kept strictly confidential.
