Says, Is a Constitutional and Democratic Aspiration, Not a Question of Any Family’s “Kingdom”.



September 18th: Reacting to the remarks of Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma that the Abdullah family wants restoration of Statehood to revive its “lost kingdom”, Rattan Lal Gupta Adv., Provincial President, J&K National Conference, said such remarks unnecessarily personalise an issue that concerns the constitutional and democratic status of Jammu and Kashmir.

said the demand for restoration of Statehood should not be reduced to the political interests of any individual or family. “Statehood concerns the constitutional position, democratic aspirations and administrative interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is therefore important that the debate remains focused on the rights and interests of the people rather than on personal or family-centric allegations.”



He said the Conference has consistently raised the issue of restoration of Statehood, and the elected government led by Omar Abdullah has also placed it among its important demands. The NC government passed a resolution seeking restoration of Statehood in its first Cabinet meeting after assuming office in 2024.

Hon’ble Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education and Social Welfare, Miss Sakina Itoo-NC Noorabad today chaired a meeting at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, to review the progress of Human Resource Management (HRM) related issues of the School Education Department.

The meeting was attended by senior officers of the School Education Department, including the Directors of School Education Jammu and Kashmir, Special Secretary, Additional Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Personnel Officers and Under Secretaries.

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the status of various HRM-related matters and took detailed feedback from the concerned officers. She emphasized the need for timely disposal of pending issues and directed the officers to ensure efficient and transparent human resource management in the department.

Out-stationed officers participated in the meeting through virtual mode.
