Srinagar Gets Dedicated Centre For Breast And Colorectal Cancer Care
A dedicated healthcare facility, The Centre for Breast & Colorectal Cancers & Non-Cancer Disorders, was inaugurated yesterday on the 2nd floor of Lake City Plaza, near Gole Market. The centre aims to provide comprehensive care for patients dealing with breast and colorectal cancers, as well as non-cancerous disorders related to these systems.

The facility is headed by Dr. Shabnam Bashir, the Founder and Director, who will also lead the Colorectal Cancer & Non-Cancer Disorders OPD. The center houses several allied clinics, including:

Cancer Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation – Led by Dr. Binish
Nutrition & Onco-Nutrition Services – Managed by Umi Laila
Stoma Care Clinic – Supervised by Gulbahar
The initiative is designed to offer patients specialised care and treatment within the valley, reducing the need for travel outside the region. The centre also aims for gradual expansions to integrate more advanced facilities, ensuring comprehensive support for cancer patients.

Dr. Shabnam emphasised that the focus will remain on addressing both cancerous and non-cancerous conditions while ensuring that no patient is left untreated due to lack of resources.
