*Synthetic Volleyball Court Inaugurated at Government High School Kralweth Kunzer by Honourable MLA Gulmarg Shri Farooq Ahmad Shah*

Kunzer, December 7, 2024 – A remarkable stride in sports infrastructure development was achieved today with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art synthetic volleyball court at Government High School Kralweth Kunzer. The facility was formally inaugurated by the Honourable MLA Gulmarg, Shri Farooq Ahmad Shah, in a ceremony attended by prominent dignitaries and local stakeholders.

The event witnessed the esteemed presence of SDM Gulmarg Syed Altaf Hussain, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Baramulla Nazir Ahmad Bhat, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Kunzer Peerzada Irshad Ahmad, and Principal of HSS Hardu Shoora Bashir Ahmad, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Farooq Ahmad Shah commended the relentless efforts of DYSSO Baramulla, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, in spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing sports infrastructure across the district. He highlighted the critical role of such facilities in nurturing young talent, promoting physical fitness, and instilling the values of sportsmanship among students.

“This synthetic volleyball court is not just an infrastructure project but a platform for our youth to dream big and achieve excellence in sports,” Shri Farooq Ahmad Shah remarked. the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Baramulla, organized a trekking expedition at Gulmarg, from Phase II to the Frozen Lake, under the proper guidance of Mr. Gh Nabi Reshi. The event was held in alignment with the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, which aims to raise awareness about electoral participation and encourage citizens to vote.

The event was flagged off by Election Observers from the Election Commission of India (ECI), alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla. The presence of the Election Observers underscored the significance of youth engagement in both physical activities and the democratic process. The trek provided participants not only with an adventurous experience in the picturesque landscapes of Gulmarg but also served as a platform to promote voter awareness and engagement.

The initiative reflects the Department’s ongoing efforts to blend outdoor sports with civic responsibility, motivating youth to stay active while playing a crucial role in the electoral process.
