Today in Parliament, I raised concerns of India’s Prepaid Plan Customers, who account for nearly 90% of the country’s 125 crore mobile users.

If a recharge expires, stopping outgoing calls is understandable. But why are incoming calls stopped as well? Once validity ends, people cannot be reached, and even essential messages like bank OTPs may not come through. In emergencies or urgent situations, this can leave a person completely cut off.

I also raised the issue of 28 day recharge “monthly” plans. If something is called monthly, it should follow the calendar month of 30–31 days. Because of the 28 day cycle, consumers effectively end up paying for 13 recharges in a year. (28 days x 13 recharges = 364 days)
If a plan is called monthly, it should follow the calendar month. Citizens deserve clarity and fairness, not clever fine print.

A mobile phone today is not a luxury. It is a lifeline.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has issued a stark warning to the international coalition, declaring that any harm to North Korean citizens currently in Iran would trigger Pyongyang’s immediate entry into the conflict. Kim made it clear that the safe return of his people is “not negotiable,” introducing a dangerous nuclear-armed wildcard into an already volatile regional crisis.

His warning comes amid rising tensions after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described Iran as “50 North Koreas,” a remark that underscores the deep ideological divide between the opposing sides. Meanwhile, geopolitical pressure continues to mount—Spain recently agreed to cooperate with the United States after facing heavy trade tariffs, and Qatar remains under a state of emergency with gas production halted.

The military situation is also escalating rapidly. An Iranian warship has been sunk, the IRIS Fateh submarine reportedly destroyed, and Congress in Washington has voted to block additional U.S. strikes—even as the Pentagon seeks $50 billion to replace nearly $2 billion in lost equipment.

At the same time, Russia is reportedly preparing to secure Iranian nuclear facilities after losing contact with Tehran’s leadership. NATO forces in Turkey remain on high alert after intercepting a ballistic missile, further raising fears of a wider confrontation.

With Kim Jong Un now warning of direct intervention, the world is watching nervously as the crisis threatens to evolve from a regional conflict into a far larger global standoff.
