🇯🇵🐄 In Japan, researchers discovered a surprisingly simple and eco-friendly way to protect cows from insect bites: painting them with zebra-like black and white stripes. Their study found that this pattern can reduce fly landings by more than 50%, especially around sensitive areas like the heels.

They used non-toxic paint on black cows and observed that the striped animals experienced fewer bites and showed less discomfort—fewer tail flicks, head shakes, and other defensive movements. Not only is this method effective, but it also offers a sustainable alternative to chemical pesticides. It helps protect livestock without harming their health or the environment, making it a low-cost, nature-friendly solution for improving animal welfare.

Last month i was telling my husband: Avoid giving too many clothes for washing today & tomorrow.

Husband: What happened?

Me: The maid won’t be coming for work for a couple of days.

Husband: Why?

Me: She’s going to see her granddaughter over to her daughters place over the sankranti holidays.

Husband: Alright, I’ll keep that in mind.

Me: Before I forget, how about we offer her a festive bonus? Rs. 2000?

Husband: But why? As it is we give her full.bonus in Diwali.

Me: She hardly makes ends meet. She’s going to see her daughter. With her meagre income, how would she be able to enjoy a good holiday? Poor thing!

Husband: There you go! Getting overly sentimental again!

Me: Don’t worry about the money; let’s cancel our plan for pizza & coke for dinner tonight. No point wasting money over eight slices of stale bread & a bottle full of carbon monoxide.

Husband: Great! So now we have to give up on our pizza night so the maid can get a bonus?!

Three days later, when the maid is back at work, the my husband asked her.

Husband: So, how was your holiday?

Maid: It was wonderful, sir. Didi had given me 2000 as a festive bonus that added to the joy.

Husband: I heard you went over to your daughters place. Met your granddaughter?

Maid: Yes, sir. I had such a great time. We spent 2000, all of it in just two days.

Husband: What did you buy with that money?

Maid: I bought my son a shirt for Rs. 200 and a doll for my granddaughter for Rs. 140, sweets for my daughter and to offer at the temple for Rs. 100 each, spent Rs. 1000 on the rent for my daughters home, bought my daughter bangles for Rs.200, and a nice belt for my son in law for Rs. 50. We spent the rest of the money buying notebooks and stationery for my granddaughter. We also had a wadapav party :)

Husband: All that for Rs. 2000?

In a shocked state he started thinking and seeing pizza in his head.

Each piece of the pizza started buzzing in his head. He started comparing the pizza’s price with the maid’s festive expenses over her family.

He started imagining each piece of the pizza as different things she bought for her family like kids dress, sweets, rent, the bangles she bought, the belt she bought for her son in law, the books and pencil she bought.

He had only imagined the delicious part of the pizza, he had never thought of the other plain and dry part of it and today because of his maid he could understand the other part of the coin or the pizza. A simple 8 pieced pizza taught some reality of life.

This incident made him realize the meaning of “Spending to live not live to spend"🥰

मेरा छोटा भाई नाम कलीमुल्ला पिता नुरुल्ला ग्राम झारबारी , पोठिया, किशनगंज आज दिनांक 04/11/24 को सुबह आधार कार्ड सुधार कराने हेतु घर से निकला था परन्तु अभी तक घर नहीं लौटा है।

पूर्णिया से मानसी की यात्रा के दौरान सहरसा स्टेशन पर इंजन की दिशा बदलने की समस्या का सामना यात्रियों को लंबे समय से करना पड़ रहा था, जिससे यात्रा में अनावश्यक देरी होती थी। इस समस्या को ध्यान में रखते हुए, हमने प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय (PMO) में एक शिकायत दर्ज की थी। शिकायत में कारूखिरिहर हॉल्ट से सहरसा तक एक सीधी रेल लाइन (बायपास) बनाने का प्रस्ताव दिया गया था, ताकि इंजन घुमाने की आवश्यकता न पड़े और यात्रा को सुगम बनाया जा सके।

हालांकि, इस प्रस्ताव को पहले लंबित बताया गया था, जिससे लोगों में निराशा थी। हाल ही में इस संबंध में AGM/ECR से एक प्रतिक्रिया प्राप्त हुई, जिसमें यह स्पष्ट किया गया है कि रेलवे बोर्ड से इस परियोजना को स्वीकृति मिल चुकी है। अब इस बायपास रेल लाइन का निर्माण शुरू किया जा सकता है, जिससे पूर्णिया से मानसी के बीच की यात्रा और भी सुविधाजनक और तेज हो जाएगी।

इस फैसले से यात्रियों को काफी राहत मिलने की उम्मीद है, क्योंकि इससे समय की बचत होगी और रेल सेवाओं की दक्षता में भी सुधार होगा।
