This is not an abandoned place. This is allegedly how animals are being kept inside the PCMC Dog Pound.

Ticks all over the dogs. Poor hygiene. Dogs kept in unsuitable spaces. Medical waste and used medicine bottles lying around. And most concerning, dogs being released even after sterilisation when their stitches are open, infected, or swollen.

Sterilisation is not just about completing a surgery and releasing an animal. Post-operative care, hygiene, monitoring and proper recovery are equally important.

If an existing pound cannot be maintained safely and hygienically, then a serious question needs to be asked:

How can more pounds be built without first ensuring proper standards of animal care?

These animals cannot speak for themselves. We need accountability, transparency and immediate action to ensure that no animal suffers due to negligence.

PCMC needs to answer. Animal welfare cannot exist only on paper.
