തിരുവല്ല - അമ്പലപ്പുഴ സംസ്ഥാനപാതയിലെ അമ്പിളി ജംഗ്‌ഷൻ സ്‌കൂൾ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിയായിരുന്ന അമ്പിളിയുടെ സ്മരണയിൽ നിറഞ്ഞുനിൽക്കുകയാണ്. നഗരപരിധിയിൽ കാവുംഭാഗം ജംഗ്‌ഷനും പാലിയേക്കരയ്ക്കും ഇടയിലെ മുക്കവലയാണ് അമ്പിളി ജംഗ്‌ഷൻ. തിരുവല്ല - അമ്പലപ്പുഴ സംസ്ഥാനപാതയും പഴയ രാജപാതയിലെ അഞ്ചൽകുറ്റി ജംഗ്‌ഷനിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയും സംഗമിക്കുന്നത് ഇവിടെയാണ്. കാവുംഭാഗം കിളന്നുപറമ്പിൽ കെ.പി.ആനന്ദദാസിന്റെയും ജെ.രത്നകുമാരിയുടെയും മകളാണ് അമ്പിളി കെ.ദാസ്. 1986 ഫെബ്രുവരി 11ന് രാവിലെ 9ന് ഇവിടെയുണ്ടായ അപകടത്തിൽ മരണപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു അമ്പിളി. എം.ജി.എം സ്‌കൂളിലെ എട്ടാംക്ലാസ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥി. രാവിലെ സ്‌കൂളിലേക്ക് പോകുമ്പോഴായിരുന്നു അപകടം. ബസ് പാഞ്ഞെത്തിയപ്പോൾ റോഡ് നിർമ്മാണത്തിനായി വഴിയോരത്ത് കൂട്ടിയിട്ടിരുന്ന മെറ്റൽക്കൂനയിലേക്ക് കയറിയ അമ്പിളി അപകടത്തിൽപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു. മെറ്റൽക്കൂന ഇടിഞ്ഞ് തെന്നിനീങ്ങി ബസിന്റെ പിൻചക്രത്തിന്റെ അടിയിൽപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു. അതിദാരുണമായ ആ സംഭവത്തെ തുടർന്ന് അമ്പിളിയുടെ സ്മരണ നിലനിൽക്കാൻ മുൻസിപ്പൽ കൗൺസിൽ പ്രമേയം പാസാക്കി അപകട സ്ഥലത്തിന് പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ പേര് നൽകുകയായിരുന്നു. അന്ന് ഒറ്റവരി പാതയായിരുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അപകടം നടന്ന് 37 വർഷം പിന്നിടുമ്പോൾ അമ്പിളി ജംഗ്‌ഷനിൽ വലിയ വികസനമാണ് ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുള്ളത്. സിവിൽ സപ്ലൈസ്‌ കോർപ്പറേഷന്റെ സംഭരണശാലയും സൂപ്പർമാർക്കറ്റും ഇന്ത്യൻ ഓയിൽ കോർപ്പറേഷന്റെ പെട്രോൾ പമ്പും അമ്പിളി ജംഗ്‌ഷന് സമീപത്തായി ഉടനെ പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിക്കും. ഇതോടെ അനന്തമായ വികസനസാദ്ധ്യതയാണ് അമ്പിളി ജംഗ്‌ഷനിൽ വന്നുചേരുന്നത്.
