Nambalatt Narayanankutty Menon, popularly known as Unni Menon, is a renowned Indian playback singer born on 2 December 1955 in Guruvayur, Kerala. With a career spanning several decades, he has recorded over 4000 songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. Initially working as a low-profile singer, his breakthrough came with the iconic song "Pudhu Vellai Mazhai" from Mani Ratnam's 1992 film *Roja*, composed by A. R. Rahman. This marked the beginning of a successful collaboration with Rahman, leading to several hit songs in films like *Karuththamma* and *Minsaara Kanavu*. Born to V.K.S Menon and Malathy, Unni was raised in Palakkad, where he nurtured his passion for music during his school and college years, eventually earning a degree in Physics from Government Victoria College. His melodious voice and emotive singing style have earned him a cherished place in South Indian music.
