Mohanlal Viswanathanpopularly known as Mohanlal, is one of the most celebrated and versatile actors in Indian cinema. Born on May 21, 1960, in Elanthoor, Kerala, Mohanlal made his acting debut in the film Manjil Virinja Pookkal (1980), where he played a negative role. His natural acting style, expressive eyes, and effortless dialogue delivery quickly made him a favorite among audiences and critics alike. Over the decades, he has acted in more than 350 films across various languages, primarily in Malayalam, but also in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
Mohanlal is known for his ability to portray a wide range of characters—from intense dramatic roles to lighthearted comedic performances. Some of his most acclaimed films include Kireedam, Bharatham, Vanaprastham, Chithram, Drishyam, and Spadikam. In addition to his film career, he has served as a lieutenant colonel in the Indian Territorial Army, reflecting his patriotism and discipline.
