রাতের অন্ধকারে উধাও হয়ে গেল রায় সাহেব মনীষী পঞ্চানন বর্মার মূর্তি। ফাঁসির ঘাট সংলগ্ন চৌমাথা মোড়ে বেদী থেকে মূর্তিটি উধাও হয়েছে।এই ন্যাক্কারজনক ঘটনায় ক্ষোভে ফুঁসছে কোচবিহার। অনেকে এই ঘটনাকে সমাজ,সংস্কৃতি ও ইতিহাসের উপর কষাঘাত হিসেবে বর্ণনা করেছেন। প্রশাসনকে তদন্ত করে প্রকৃত দোষীদের বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর ও দৃষ্টান্তমূলক ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করার জোড়ালো আওয়াজ উঠছে।

মাথাভাঙ্গায় খুন তৃণমূল কর্মী।জানা গিয়েছে, মৃতের নাম সঞ্জয় রায়। তৃণমূল কর্মী হিসেবে এলাকায় পরিচিত ছিলেন তিনি। বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে কোচবিহারের জোরপাটকি এলাকায় মনসা পুজোর নিমন্ত্রণে গিয়েছিলেন সঞ্জয়। সাড়ে এগারোটা নাগাদ বাড়ি ফিরবেন বলে ঠিক করেন তিনি। সেই সময় ওই পুজোর বাড়িতে দুই ব্যক্তির মধ্যে অশান্তি চলছিল। সঞ্জয় মিটিয়ে নেওয়ার কথা বলতেই অভিযুক্ত অজয় বর্মনের রাগ গিয়ে পড়ে সঞ্জয় রায়ের উপর। রক্তাক্ত অবস্থায় হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হয়েও শেষ রক্ষা হলো না সঞ্জয় রায়ের।

স্বপ্নের চাকুরি হাতে পেয়েও আর বোধ হয় শান্তি নেই। যে কোনো মুহূর্তেই চাকুরি চলে যেতে পারে। ঠিক যেমনটা হলো এস.এস.সিতে। এবার রাজস্থানের পুলিশ ডিপার্টমেন্টে সাব-ইন্সপেক্টর নিয়োগ প্রক্রিয়ায় দুর্নীতির দায়ে বাতিল হল পুরো প্যানেল। যারা আগে অন্য দপ্তরে চাকুরি করেছেন তারা ফের পুরনো দপ্তরের চাকুরিতে যোগদানের জন্য যেতে পারবেন।

SSC মামলায় বড় নির্দেশ সুপ্রিম কোর্টের। ৭ দিনের মধ্যে অযোগ্যদের তালিকা প্রকাশের নির্দেশ। প্রথম থেকে বারবার ডেপুটেশনে SSC চেয়ারম্যানকে দাবি জানানো হলেও শোনেননি।
