বাংলা দেশে শুধুমাত্র ধর্মীয় অবমাননার অভিযোগে দিপু দাস নামে এক যুবককে বেধড়ক মারধর করে অর্ধমৃত অবস্থায় গাছে ঝুলিয়ে অগ্নিসংযোগ করার ঘটনাকে নিন্দা জানানোর ভাষা নেই। ধর্মীয় এই হিংসাত্মক মৌলবাদকে অচিরেই বিনাশ করার দরকার। বাংলাদেশের এই ধর্মীয় মৌলবাদ বিশ্ববাসীর কাছে মাথা ব্যাথার কারণ হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে।

There are no words to adequately condemn the incident in Bangladesh where a young man named Dipu Das was brutally beaten, left half-dead, and then hung from a tree and set on fire, all on the mere accusation of religious blasphemy. This religious fundamentalism and violence must be eradicated without delay. This religious extremism in Bangladesh has become a cause of concern for the entire world.

মানুষ দেওয়ালে পিঠ ঠেকে গেলে ফুঁসে উঠবেই....
ব্রাসেলসে, ৭,০০০ থেকে ১০,০০০ কৃষক ইউরোপীয় পার্লামেন্টের সামনে বিক্ষোভে ফেটে পড়েন।
বিক্ষোভকারীরা পুলিশের দিকে আলু, পাথর, ধোঁয়া বোমা এবং আতশবাজি ছুড়ে মারে। তারা ট্রাক্টর দিয়ে ব্যারিকেড ভেঙে ফেলে এবং গাছ উপড়ে ফেলে।
কৃষকদের এই রাগের সবচেয়ে বড় কারণ হলো EU-Mercosur বাণিজ্য চুক্তি। কৃষকরা ভয় পাচ্ছেন যে এই চুক্তির মাধ্যমে দক্ষিণ আমেরিকার দেশগুলো যেমন ব্রাজিল, আর্জেন্টিনা থেকে সস্তা এবং কম মানের মাংস ও শস্য ইউরোপে আসবে, যার ফলে স্থানীয় কৃষকদের ব্যবসা ধ্বংস হয়ে যাবে।
ইউরোপীয় কমিশনের সভাপতি উরসুলা ভন ডের লেইন আজ এই চুক্তি চূড়ান্ত করতে ব্রাজিল যাচ্ছেন।
কৃষকরা অভিযোগ করছেন-উরসুলা ভন ডের লেইন এই চুক্তি জোর করে কার্যকর করতে চাইছে। এটি "গণতন্ত্র নয়, একনায়কতন্ত্র"।

ফের চাকুরি বাতিল। GTA এলাকায় অর্থাৎ পাহাড়ে বেলাগাম দুর্নীতির কারণে 313 জন শিক্ষকের চাকুরি বাতিল হল। বাংলায় চাকুরি বাতিল যেন একটা সাধারণ ঘটনায় পর্যবসিত হয়েছে।

Once again, jobs have been terminated. The jobs of 313 teachers in the GTA area, that is, in the hills, have been cancelled due to rampant corruption. Job terminations in West Bengal seem to have become a common occurrence.

আউগান আলু খেত থেকে সবেমাত্র তোলা শুরু হয়েছে আর তাতেই দামে মারাত্বক পতন। তুফানগঞ্জে আউগান আলু কেজি প্রতি 17 টাকায় বিকোচ্ছে।
The early variety of potatoes have just started being harvested, and already the price has dropped drastically. In Tufanganj, early potatoes are selling for 17 rupees per kilogram.

মেধাকে মূল্য দিচ্ছে কেন সরকার ? মেধা কেন মাটিতে লুটোপুটি খাচ্ছে ? যেখানে মেধার দাম নেই , সেখানে আবার মেধা তালিকা কিসের ?

তবে কি রাজ্যের একচেটিয়া উন্নয়নের জোয়ারে মেধা ভেসে যাচ্ছে ? মেধাকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করতে কি মেধাবীকেও কোর্ট চত্বরে চক্কর কাটতে হবে ? মেধার যেখানে দাম নেই সেখানে শিক্ষার দাম কিভাবে থাকতে পারে ? শিক্ষা এবং মেধা নামক শব্দ দুটি আজ রাজ্যে ভয়াবহ অসহায় পরিস্থিতিতে অবস্থান করছে।

Why is the government giving value to talent? Why is talent being looted on the ground? Where talent has no value, what is the point of a merit list?

But is talent being swept away by the tide of exclusive development of the state? Do even the talented have to go around the court premises to establish talent? How can education have a price where talent has no price? The two words education and talent are in a terrible helpless situation in the state today.
