*Two Thieves Arrested, Stolen Motorcycle, Mobile Phones & Cash Recovered by Udhampur Police*

Udhampur Police has achieved a success by solving two theft cases registered at Police Station Udhampur and arresting two thieves with stolen property.

On 11/09/2025, Police Station Udhampur received a complaint from Alok Raj S/O Charan Das R/O Moud Udhampur stating that his motorcycle bearing registration number JK14J-5199 which was parked at Jakheni Chowk on 04/09/2025 had been stolen.

In this regard, case FIR No. 326/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS was registered.

On the same day, another complaint was received from Mima Begum W/O Tariq Hussain R/O Ward No. 5, Bharat Nagar Udhampur, stating that on 01/09/2025 she had locked her house and gone to her relatives’ place. On returning the next day, she found the locks broken and mobile phones along with ₹20,000 stolen. Accordingly, case FIR No. 327/2025 U/S 331(4) 305 BNS was registered.

During the course of investigation, Police team of PS Udhampur led by its SHO apprehended two accused persons:

1. Badal Kumar S/O Dilip Kumar R/O Panjar Panchari Udhampur

2. Kuldeep Chand @ Mera S/O Sindoor Chand R/O Gandala Udhampur

From their possession, the stolen motorcycle (JK14J-5199) was recovered from Gandala. Further investigation also led to the recovery of 04 stolen mobile phones and ₹11,500 cash.

With the arrest of the accused, Udhampur Police has successfully solved both theft cases and recovered stolen property.

*Second Drug Peddler Detained Under PIT NDPS Act This Week by Udhampur Police*

August 10, 2025

Continuing its crackdown on drug trafficking in the district, Udhampur Police has booked another notorious drug peddler namely Rafaqat S/O Mohd Shafi R/O Ward No. 12, Devika near Sai Baba Mandir, Tehsil and District Udhampur under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.

The detention warrant against the said accused was executed today, and in compliance with the orders, he has been lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, District Jammu by the Police team of PS Udhampur.

The said accused has been actively involved in promoting the drug trade in Udhampur and was found to be supplying narcotic substances to the local youth, thereby posing a serious threat to public health and societal well-being.

This is the second such PIT NDPS detention warrant executed by Udhampur Police this week as part of its intensified campaign against drug peddlers.

Udhampur Police reaffirms its firm commitment to making the district drug-free and will continue to act tough against those involved in the illicit drug trade.

उधमपुर में रास्ता बंद होने के कारण नेशनल हाईवे पर ट्रक ड्राइवर घंटों से फँसे रहे। इस बीच SHO उधमपुर पुरव सिंह ने आगे आकर मानवता का परिचय दिया और फँसे हुए ट्रक ड्राइवरों को खाने-पीने का सामान उपलब्ध कराया। अचानक बंद हुए रास्ते के कारण परेशान ड्राइवरों को इस मदद से राहत मिली।

*Bootlegger held in Rehambal, 90 bottles of illicit liquor recovered by Udhampur Police*
Police team of Police Station Rehambal led by its SHO while on patrolling duty apprehended one suspicious person from Malhar Morh and was identified as Ram Gopal Sharma S/O
Nand Lal R/O Malhar Morh, Tehsil & District Udhampur who was carrying two bags in his hands.
On checking, the police team recovered 90 bottles of JK Excise Desi Whisky (180 ml each) from his possession. The accused has been arrested on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 128/2025 under Section 48(a) of the Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation is underway.
