*Two interstate lady drug peddlers arrested; 14 Kg’s of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) recovered by R.S. Pura Police Station,Jammu*

Continuing its relentless drive against narcotics smuggling and substance abuse, R.S. Pura Police Station achieved a major success by arresting two lady drug peddlers and recovering 13 kg 778 grams of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like substance from their possession at Kotli Shah Doula near Shiv Mandir under the jurisdiction of Police Station R.S. Pura.

A police team led by PSI Majid Shafi, Incharge BPP Chakrohi, assisted by officials of Police Station R.S. Pura, carried out the operation under the supervision of SHO Insp. Ravi Singh Parihar and overall supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu and SDPO R.S. Pura.

The accused have been identified as 1) *Simranpreet Kour D/o Sukhdev Singh and 2) Jasmine Kour D/o Nirmal Singh, both residents of Beas, Amritsar (Punjab).* During checking, the duo was found carrying poppy straw concealed in pithu bags packed inside plastic sandbags.

In this connection, *FIR No. 216/2025 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station R.S. Pura.* Both accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway to unearth the backward and forward links of the consignment.

The Jammu Police reiterates its firm commitment to curb the menace of drugs and safeguard the youth from the scourge of addiction.

In an action against the menace of illicit liquor, Jammu Police, South Zone achieved another success today as Police Post Narwal apprehended a bootlegger and recovered 216 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.

Acting swiftly on a reliable input regarding illegal stocking of liquor for sale on a dry day, a police party from Police Post Narwal conducted a raid at a godown in the area. During the search, 216 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the spot.

The accused has been identified as Geetan Sharma S/o Sham Lal R/o Narwal, District Jammu. He was arrested on the spot and the illicit liquor was seized accordingly.

The entire operation was carried out by the Incharge Police Post Narwal and SHO Police Station Bahu Fort under the close supervision of SDPO East City and SP South.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and further investigation is underway.

The general public has appreciated the prompt action of Jammu Police in curbing the sale of illicit liquor in the area and maintaining strict vigilance against such illegal activities.

*Absconder Wanted Since 2017 Arrested by Jammu (Rural) Police in Nagrota*

In a major breakthrough, Jammu (Rural) Police have arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for the *past nine years.*

The accused has been identified as *Mohd. Zubair, son of Nazir Hussain, caste Gujjar, resident of Rajouri.* He was wanted in connection with a case registered under *FIR No. 58/2017 under Section 279 RPC at Police Station Nagrota.*

A warrant under Section *512 Cr.P.C* had been issued against him by the Hon’ble Court of Munsiff JMIC Jammu, as he had been absconding since 2017.

Acting on specific inputs and persistent efforts, a police team from Police Station Nagrota, led by SHO PS Nagrota, successfully traced and apprehended the accused, ensuring his production before the Hon’ble Court for further legal proceedings.

Jammu (Rural) Police continues its sustained drive against absconders and proclaimed offenders to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law.

*Jammu(Rural)Police Crack Theft Case in Record Time, Three Arrested Including a Goldsmith,₹1.10 Lakh Cash and Gold Recovered.*

In a swift and effective action, Jammu Police have solved a theft case reported from *Pooja Colony, Lower Thather within days of the incident.* The accused had entered a house by breaking the door lock and decamped with cash and gold ornaments.

Following the complaint, *FIR No.224/2025 under sections 331(3)/305/112/317 BNS was registered at Police Station Domana,* and investigation was immediately taken up.

Acting promptly, the police team from Police Post Chinore preserved the scene of crime and thoroughly examined CCTV footage from the surrounding area. Based on technical and field investigation, the route taken by the accused during the commission of the crime was identified.

During the course of investigation, a team led by *PSI Arjun Singh,Incharge Police Post Chinore, assisted by PSI Tahir Shabir under the supervision of SHO and SDPO Domana* worked tirelessly to track down the suspects.

After sustained efforts, police rounded up two accused persons identified as:
*1.Raj Karan,* son of Yash Paul, resident of Nardani, Ban Talab, Jammu
*2.Bhader Ali,* son of Sher Mohammad, resident of Keran, Ban Talab, Jammu

On sustained questioning, accused Bhader Ali disclosed his involvement in the crime, leading to the recovery of ₹1.10 lakh in cash and two gold earrings. Police also arrested a goldsmith identified as *Rajinder Kumar Puri, son of Late Jawahar Lal, resident of Paloura, Jammu,* for his involvement in receiving the stolen property.

The entire operation, including the arrests and recoveries, was carried out under the direct supervision of *SP Rural Jammu Sh. Brijesh Sharma (JKPS).*

It is pertinent to mention that this is the *second theft case solved by Incharge Police Post Chinore within a week,* reflecting the continued efficiency and dedication of Jammu Police in tackling crime and ensuring public safety

JAMMU: A tragic road accident occurred on the Jammu–Rajouri–Poonch National Highway (NH-144A) near Thandikassi on Tuesday, when a school minibus skidded off the road and overturned.

According to reports, at least 16 people, including several school students and the bus conductor, sustained injuries in the mishap.

Two students with serious injuries have been referred to GMC Jammu for advanced treatment, while others are receiving medical care at a local hospital.

Police and local residents immediately reached the spot and launched rescue operations. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident may have occurred due to the vehicle losing control on a slippery stretch of the road.
